The Woodhouse Arms

This review finds me highly conflicted between whether to give the place a terrible review so no-one else learns about it, or giving a great review because the whole experience was absolutely fantastic! We booked a late decision night away, staying in one of just 3 rooms for an incredibly good value din, bed & brek. Our room was....roomy...with lovely decor and excellent facilities. The bed was huge and comfortable. Bathroom was clean, shower and bath had plenty of hot water and again, plenty of supplies. Dinner was in the nicely presented restaurant, my wife having a delicious steak while I chose the pie if the day, chicken and ham. This was preceded by focaccia and butter and all served with a lovely smile. We shared the desert, a warm pican pie and ice cream, again, delicious! After a lovely sleep, we attended our pre-ordered brekky in the pub, and oh my, what an absolute treat. Honestly, the best full English I've eaten this year (and I've stayed in many, many hotels this year). Again, all served with a lovely smile. All in, a lovely place to stay and eat. We will be returning with the rest of the family as soon as possible!

This is a country pub with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The service was so friendly and helpful that it was a pleasure to be there. Everything was very clean . The location is on a crossroad and there isn't really a garden but it's a very pretty village and the countryside around is lovely.

I have recently entertained family and friends here a few times whilst holding an art exhibition nearby, and each time, it was great. I booked online, which was easy, and informed them of an intolerance that one of our party has during booking. They called me shortly afterwards to tell me that it would be OK for her. Great caring service. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient, even when it was busy. Really nice good quality food with daily specials too. We will, without hesitation, be returning to enjoy more meals here in the future.

Absolutely first class Pub and Restaurant, the staff are so friendly efficient and helpful, the food is definitely 5 star but at very reasonable prices, the chef or chefs will go out their way to cater for special requests and the service is excellent with no long waiting despite that we were a group of 12 and a late booking! Countryside location which is ideal for a stop off on a road trip! All the people in our group said they would definitely return for another treat! I have had such a lovely stay at The Woodhouse Arms. Ori (sorry for maybe my bad spelling of her name) was absolutely lovely! She was so personable and made me feel so happy upon checking in as well as my stay here. The food was nice as well as a great drinks menu and cocktails. The rooms are more than worth the money. I stayed here while I attended a Dog Training course for the weekend with my dog Nala and it was perfect for the two of us! I believe I met the owner who was so lovely! A lovely breakfast and housekeeper. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly! I’ll be back next year for sure!
