The absolute hands down best carrot cake I've ever had. Still thinking about it several times a day 3 days later! Moist, beautifully spiced, delicious frosting. A DREAM. (Also gluten free though you wouldn't know it)

My family and I went to Emma's Dell on Easter Monday. It was very busy but the staff were totally unflustered. They were great and so was the food.

Stopped as a party of 5, for bread, coffee and cakes. Lovely cafe, service was quick, lovely tea, the cheese scone was a highlight, YUM 🙂

A first for me in Grasmere, great Cumberland Sausage butty. They serve all sorts of loose leaf tea in quirky teapots.

Food is varied and lots of choice. We had savoury and sweet in our group. Very full at the end even though it appeared a light bite. Excellent in all respects.

Two of us had bowls of soup. Huge and delicious! Came with gorgeous rolls (which tasted fresh baked). Good value. Just what we needed on a cold January day!
