Well what an absolute hidden gem. Booked a few days previous to our visit. Upon checking in our hotel we were immediately informed as to how amazing this place is. From start to finish everything was first rate. We was looked after with excellent service and such a mesmerising decor inside really does make this place what it is. Hats off to everybody at this place. Chef's food was just to die for. Recommend to anyone who visits Great Yarmouth. Get yourselves here!!

This was our first time going to The Octopus and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastically fresh and tasted absolutely amazing! When we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated with a snack of spicy mini rice cakes & water for the table. All of the staff were so friendly, especially Soraia, who made sure we wanted for nothing. The owner Ben was also extremely accommodating and gave us a very warm welcome from when we arrived to when we left. The wine list was extensive and detailed & the cocktails were delicious, particularly the Margarita! The only negative is that it is quite expensive, however, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, it’s one of my new favourites and is completely unique to the area.

We had dinner at The Octopus Seafood Restaurant last night. We came specifically to Great Yarmouth to visit the restaurant and oh boy we were not disappointed. The owner and all other staff were very accommodating and hospitable and took the time to chat to us and all other tables. The food was exquisite and I particularly liked the strawberry gazpacho with giant prawns, as it would normally not be my first pick. The rock oysters from Mersea were very tasty and fresh, but a bit too big for me haha. That's just a personal preference. Overall, it was a great experience and all the little Octopus details in the restaurant added to this.

As a lover of sea food I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time , and I was not disappointed 😊👌. The service was brilliant and the food was even better, my partner and i ordered giant king prawns as a starter which came in no time at all and were really tasty 😋. As a main I had the octupus and my partner the monkfish and squid lemongrass skewers and both were delicious the presentation of the dishes was also fantastic . All in all it was a great experience with great food , we will 100% be visiting again, And I would recommend anyone who likes seafood or a little bit of fine dining to visit this place🥂✌️🐙 amazing.

Where do we start? First off with the greeting from owner Ben and his staff, was so welcoming and felt like we were walking into another country with an authentic owner. Ben is passionate about his food (a lot like me and my partner Chloe) and this goes a long way, as he knows both the food and the wine inside out, having extensively tested both. Both Ben and the staff couldn’t have been more attentive, especially with having a nut allergy, that personal touch was very reassuring. Let’s get to the food (as pictured), this was quite frankly some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. The crab Thermidor was one of my favourites and is a must try. The halibut was cooked beautifully with an amazing array of tastes. Then the lobster, this was cooked to perfection and the creamy sauce was divine that accompanied by the truffle chips, was sublime. We will be returning again in the near future and cannot wait! James and Chloe x

The best restaurant serving seafood in Great Yarmouth. I do strongly recommend to go there if you are fancy to eat fish seafood or fresh oysters. Everything is served by friendly staff and I have never been treated so well by servers. I'll be back there for sure while I'll be in the area.

What an amazing place to go, from the moment we walked in we were looked after, very attentive staff, polite and funny. The cocktails were great especially the espresso martini and the food...wow! Cooked well, seasoned well, tasted delicious, we will be coming back here again.

Incredible first visit here. Ambience is bang on. Music playlist is perfect for the setting. The food was exceptional, Oysters were shucked perfectly, Scallops cooked to perfection, Tempura Octopus melted in the mouth, and Steak cooked better than most steak restaurants! The staff were attentive but never felt fussed over too much. Bens ability to recall and speak to his customers proves he is doing more than building a restaurant, he’s building a community around seafood. 10/10

Cozy atmosphere, beautiful and clean interior with really polite waiter/owner. Good portion of food with reasonable price. Definitely a 5 stars restaurant. We visited here on the 2nd of June without any reservation. I strongly recommend people who want to visit this restaurant to prebook because they will allocate you in a better seating area. For starter, we have tuna tartare, pan fried scallop and crab ther. My favourite starter was definitely the crab ther, it was creamy, thick and rich in flavour. The pan fried scallops were relatively big and really fresh. I love the combination of the scallop, apple sauce and green apple slices. However, I'm not a big fan of their tuna tartare because it's a bit bland. For main, we have lobster, fillet of halibut and octopus tempura. My favourite main was the octupus tempura, it was lightly battered and served with the mix of mashed sweet potato and pepper. The octopus was really soft inside, crispy outside, perfectly cook and nicely seasoned. For the whole lobster, it's really worth it, £48 for a good size lobster. I like how they fuse the pepper in the lobster and the side - truffle parmesan fries. However, I feel like the lobster was slightly overdone, the meat wasn't tender and juicy enough. Just tiny dissapointment. And finally Halibut fillet, tender and juicy. I love how they serve it with chorizo and herby new potato. It balenced out the dish really well. I will definitely order extra herby new potato for my next visit. I will definitely revisit here as I really enjoy the food and atmosphere.
