I resently popped in to The fox inn after a day of walking, I found the staff to be friendly and welcoming we asked for a bowl of cheesy chips and they were happy to oblige. we sat in the bar side with our drink and chips and the restaurant side fairly busy, everywhere was clean and smart there is baby changing facilities in the toilets and the toilets were clean and well presented, outside there is an ample carpark and a large seating area with picnic tables on grass also a duck pond and animals to help entertain the children.

I just popped in for as shandy while out on a long bike ride it's a very pleasant pub well known for the Duck pond in front It's a lovely spot to go for a walk as Hallaton is a very beautiful and historic village famous for the 'Bottle Kicking'event held over Easter plus a short walk will take you to Hallaton Castle mound plus there is an excellent museum next to the church I am not sure if the 'Hallaton Hoard' is kept there though?

We had a small gathering here after a funeral for a small number of people. The buffet food laid on was absolutely outstanding quality great tasting food. Nice relaxing atmosphere the staff were friendly and welcoming. Even though we ourselves are not local to the area (approx 35 miles away) will be worth the journey to enjoy a meal at a later date.

A loud and boozy pub. Great if you want to get stuck in after a skinful. If you end up leaving after 11pm, odds are you're going to be spangled.

Visited the Fox twice on our stay locally.
We was certainly not disappointed.
The food was excellent and large portions.I tried the 'Flying Scotsman' burger and it was amazing.
My wife had the 10oz gammon which she said was superb.
The beer was Timothy Taylor I tried and certainly went down well!
The pub is dog friendly in the bar area as we had both our dogs.
Staff friendly & courteous.
If you're in the Hallaton area give it a try!
You won't be disappointed.

Amazing food, service and outstanding front of house staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were genuinely friendly and attentive.Made to feel totally at home and even the chef came out with a bowl of beef pieces for our two dogs or wolfed them down. What a treasure of a place. Hallaton is very lucky to have this gem in their village.
