We recently visited the Thai kitchen at the Bewick arms. The food was amazing! With lovely authentic flavours. The pub itself was cosy clean and a nice place to go for a relaxing evening dinner. The service was brilliant friendly staff and the food came out very quick. I would definitely recommend this place it was an amazing authentic experience!

Newly opened, and wanted to leave a reveiw to ensure people are aware that this lovely pub is now open for drinks. We'd not been in the pub previously but it looks to have been sympathetically renovated and it's beautiful building so I'm happy to see it back in use. I believe the food menu is due in September. Quick shout out to the friendly locals (Patrick and Joe) who we could have spent the rest of the day chatting to, but we still had serveral miles to walk!

My wife and I were on a walk when we happened upon the Bewicke Arms. It so happened they were celebrating their one year anniversary in business so we decided to stay for the celebration...and then we decided to stay for the night. This is a charming pub with great beer, great food, amazing rooms and a lovely café for breakfast with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The room was spotlessly clean and very nicely appointed. The garden was filled with people who were all obviously enjoying themselves. The staff were endlessly accommodating and very pleasant. We will be back for a longer stay soon to take advantage of their hospitality and to enjoy the many beautiful walking and biking paths in the area.

An old friend and l went out for lunch and weren't sure where to go. This place was chosen by real recommendation. (No internet involved!) The landlord present was a very friendly and attentive. I decided to have the classic Ham, Egg and Chips (£8.50), whilst my friend opted for the Steak Sandwich (£9 l think) Both dishes were freshly prepared within 15 minutes. Excellent local ham, tasty eggs and hand cut (with skins) chips. The steak sandwich was served rare, as requested and my friend commented 'Better than l was expecting'. Good price for good food. A rare combination. Will definitely visit again.

Under new management since Sept '18. First visit was excellent, great welcome & service, we chose from menu recommendations made by staff and were not disappointed, menu was seasonal. Will definitely return. Update: have returned and had a great evening again, wines are excellent.

We found this little gem of a place because my partner had booked us into a similar sounding pub, which he didn't realise was a 3hr drive away! So when I asked the name to put into the satnav, it naturally brought up the most local pub of this name. We arrived, gave our name and of course, they didn't have our booking 😂 we still were unaware we were in the wrong pub at this point but the hosts could not have been any more accommodating. They apologised for the error (OUR error!) and found us a seat. The bar area was quite busy and being so cosy it was quite loud, we decided to just have some drinks instead of food. We explained this to our host who instantly asked to come and look at a different table to see if it was more suitable, which it was. The whole pub is beautiful but there are areas more suited to eat and more which are better to drink in. After kindly moving us, our host brought us the menus back. My partner was confused as he is a fussy eater and was sure when he booked he had seen burgers on the menu. At this point he went back online to look and the penny dropped that we were in the wrong place 😂 we told our host when she returned and she could not of been any nicer. (She seemed pleased that she hadn't lost her marbles, given that she takes the bookings and could genuinely not remember us calling to book) After all the effort and hospitality my partner took the plunge and ordered the lamb trio. I had the beef onglet. Our meals came out and they were amazing. I watched my no frills, plain food, fussy eating partner, devour a plate of top notch food which in normal circumstances he wouldn't even attempt to order. Had we seen the actual menu before coming he would never have booked. But I'm so glad this mishap happened as we have found ourselves a new favourite place to eat. The best service, the nicest food I've ever eaten, a gorgeous pub and the most friendly, accommodating hosts we've ever stumbled across. Cannot recommended this place highly enough 👏🏻 (And don't even get me started on the Banana souffle and the trio of chocolate puddings. Heaven!) we will be back real soon ❤️

Popped in after a walk with the dog. Nice beers and lovely feel to the place. Landlord and lady very nice, welcoming and keen to share the history of the village. Good looked lovely but pricey

We spent a wonderful few hours here on Sunday 23rd Sept enjoying some truly delicious food and celebrating my wife's birthday with our family and good friends. The fact the Bewick Arms is under new management of some 3 weeks seemed evident but only in small ways such as decoration (being in progress and ongoing) and we knew this before we chose to book them for our secial meal. From the moment we arrived to the time we drove away we were in good hands, the service was courteous, knowledgeable, attentive and warm and made us feel like we were well known regular customers. The food was beautifully cooked, presented and served and I might add...plentiful. When deserts came along my wife was presented with a special birthday wish written on her plate, a candle (no age mentioned..phew!) and a lovely chorus of Happy Birthday by staff and fellow diners alike, a lovely and much appreciated touch..but the lovely touches didn't end there. As we left, we took a moment to enjoy the sun and take a couple of pictures to mark the day and to our delight we were even offered to have this taken for us so we all could be together. Good value, good food, good times. Will definitely go again.

My experience at Bewicke Arms was most enjoyable. I was attending a professional event, however I would highly recommend it as a venue for a gathering of any sort. The pub itself, is a beautiful period building, with spectacular views, and is situated in a thoroughly picturesque village. The food was outstanding, and the staff were very charming and friendly. Overall, the splendid setting, and first-class hospitality really sets this pub apart. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough. Fantastic.
