WOW!!! What an amazing place. The staff can’t do enough for you. The Inn is filled with artefacts. The room we stayed in (number 1) was spotless, spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities. And the food, oh my god, you won’t get anything better, anywhere. The presentation and taste were outstanding The portion size was more than enough for even the hungriest of people. And the topping was, we ate our meal in the refurbished train carriage. I would definitely recommend The Old Station Inn

Booked a 1 night stay in twin room and an evening meal in the Carriage with amazing Sunday dinner the following day. Bear in mind pub opens at 12am Sun, so take breakfast snacks if you intend having a lie in and hanging around for dinner.
Booked ages in advance to have a Saturday and a restaurant slot, lady on phone was super helpful, used a voucher and all arranged with ease.
My phone call closer to time was handled great check in time 3pm, parkung on site etc.
The hospitality was great, Fellow welshie Debbie working hard having let the staff have time off for exams, amaxing boss! The atmosphere was fab, background music good choices not too loud could still chat, jam packed pub with a party being held indoors but plenty of seats, so many things to see from the signage to the salt n pepper collection. I think you'd see something new each visit. Comfiest bar stool too.
Lovely menu, chose goat's chese tart starter and the sausage and mash and mountain of amazing onions, the portions were massive, I'm a girl who eats a lot but I was beaten, the amount returned to the kitchen was no reflection on the cooking. Wish we'd shared a starter to then have room for shared desert. Noticed a few people commenting no room for desert.
Butcombe ale was nice would have liked to have seen more ale options especially as the pub is full of the beer tap signs.
Twin room was spacious, comfy bed, ensuite with bath was unexpected. Evetything immaculate and Tv/ coffee amenities too, even decaff as I have recently given up caffiene!
Plenty of parking on site, there's also crazy golf and a fab outdoor seating area, shame our British weather didnt comply!
Top tip, carriage got boiling in the evening as full, wear a layer you can shed if too warm. Should imagine in winter you'd need a layer to add.
Had an amazing time, will tell all my friends definitely a gem of a place.
A beautiful pub with an old railway carriage dining room. The pub is full of quirky interesting items around the walls and ceilings. The room we stayed in was warm, clean and comfortable.
The hosts were friendly and made us feel most welcome.
Well recommended to stay here. We did not have food here this time but from what we saw being served it was good portions and looked delicious.
Great food in an atmospheric setting. Will suit people of all ages and food tastes. Our choices were a fillet steak, a mixed grill with every choice of meat imaginable both accompanied by fries and seasonal veggies also ours were wonderful pork tenderloin on a bed of mash with cabbage. All eaten with gusto. Sweet treats were the lemon posset, bread and butter pudding . Will I be returning, most certainly!
We had fantastic food served by friendly people. The main eating area is an old railway carriage. It was very comfortable and atmospheric. I swear I could feel it rocking like we were on a train. Nicely kept ale, too.

Having young kids I sometimes find it hard to find good pubs to go to. However, the old station pub is amazing pub for us. Great and reasonable priced food. Quirky and cozy and so kids friendly. I would definitely go back. Absolutely loving it.

I visited today with my partner and pooch and wow what a find!. From calling up Debbie was so lovely and accommodating. The menus is very well made with a great selection of dishes and wow does Nev know how to cook. Great portions and very well made. Not only have we found a new local (ish) boozer, we have also found new friends. Can’t wait to come back soon. Clay/Coop
Had a lovely family meal here. Food very tasty, well presented and they do a good value mid week special menu. Owners are very nice. Recommended.
Wonderful pub. So quirky...bit like a museum.of all odd things. We loved it. Had a great meal in the railway carriage attached to the back of the pub. Landlord and barman so super friendly. We will be back.
We live in Cardiff and looked this Inn up on Trip Advisor for lunch before passing through and on the basis of the reviews gave it a try. We weren't disappointed. We had a friendly welcome from the landlady and a table in an old railway carriage converted very tastefully to a dining room.
The lunch was very tasty off a specially discounted menu and was excellent value for money. (Two courses for £14.95).
The whole experience was very good.
It's now on our list next time we are down this way.
