Had an excellent takeaway meal. Lots of food, super quality and well packed for the journey home. Lots of parking behind Sainsburys. Please publish the menu online with takeaway numbers so there is no confusion over orders :)

A great, authentic Japanese dining experience! The sushi was delicious and the bento box was a great size and really enjoyable too. I'd highly recommend Yoshi Haru to lovers of Japanese cuisine and newbies to the scene alike - will definitely visit again.

Gutted I haven’t found this place sooner. At the moment it’s a limited menu (cooked food only so no raw sushi) but that suits me fine. I got a few Chinese dishes and they were exactly the right flavours found in authentic Chinese cooking. For example the hot and sour soup was the right colour, texture and actually spicy! I didn’t know there was Chinese food on the menu otherwise I would’ve switched from other offerings in this town ages ago. I’m looking forward to getting the raw sushi when that’s back on the menu and to trying other Chinese/Japanese dishes from here. I can imagine their Sichuan dishes have the exact flavours I’m after. Highly recommend!

I think this is a real gem of a Japanese restaurant here in Halstead, Essex. I've eaten in a couple of very good Japanese restaurants and really thought this was better based on the current menu. They're not serving fresh Sushi at present due to the contamination issues with COVID-19 (I ate here with my family on 18.09.20 so will hopefully change at some point). The restaurant is very neat and clean with hand sanitisers on every table and there is enough distance between tables to be comfortable. I was hoping for a little more Japanese décor around the restaurant (this is my only negative) but liked the pictures that were there. Would be good to see some more modern day Japanese pictures in the form of photos of Japan or some more Anime. For starter, myself and my wife had the Chicken Gyoza (Japanese Dumplings) whilst the kids had the Chicken Wings. The Gyoza was delicious and the outside of the dumpling reminded me a little like the taste of a pancake which was nice. For a main, I went for the Ebi (Tempura Prawn) Katsu Curry Bento box which came with a good portion of prawns, rice, curry sauce, cooked crab meat Sushi and vegetables which all tasted fresh and delicious as they should. The Bento Boxes are great as the compartmentalise each of these servings so you can mix things together as you please and is very appealing to look at. Drinks were Japanese Asahi Lager which I personally enjoy very much as well as various other soft drinks. I didn't see what other alcoholic drinks they did as I only wanted a couple of beers due to it being a weekday. Service was good and the gentleman who was working (possibly the owner?) was efficient and polite through our time in the restaurant. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to sample some fresh sushi once things are better than the current climate. The 4 of use thoroughly enjoyed the meal which is rare with younger kids so look forward to returning again soon.
