Lovely food but we found the service a little slow and felt the tables were slightly close together. Consequently when Our table was cleared, our server spilled sauce over me which affected our plan to go on somewhere for a drink afterwards.

Our favourite local pub. They managed to squeeze us in during a very busy Friday evening, service was impeccable and food was exquisite. The scallops are AMAZING. Can't wait to visit again!

We love Bistro Gautier and missed it a lot during lockdown. Really cool and relaxed and new menu is great - the chicken Caesar croquettes are a work of genius. Turned up last Friday without a booking and they found us a table. A delicious meal followed. Friendly host and lovely service. Recommend.

Four of us booked for a dinner meal at Bistro Gautier on a Saturday night - the place was busy with other diners and a number of people at the bar, so there was a lovely atmosphere in the place. The wait staff were very attentive, and provided recommendations on food - I had the scallops, raclette burger and chocolate brownie for dessert, all of which were rich and full of flavour. It turned out that the chef's mother was having her birthday at the venue too, so the chef personally came out to check in on us midway through the meal when she came out to see her mother. All in all, a fantastic experience - I'd gladly come back when I'm next back in Harpenden.

Such a lovely experience, food was absolutely delicious and the service is lovely and you feel so welcomed from start to finish. The decor is homely and quaint and the 'starry' ceiling is so nice to eat under! I could not recommend this place enough. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

Such a gem of a place - incredible food and a much needed change of cuisine from all the same old restaurants around here. Lovely, friendly staff, a super chilled vibe even though its popular with families, pretty garden, plenty of parking (more over the road) and a beautiful location next to the river and park. Highly recommended!

Best brunch and service I've had! Everything on the menu is divine! I love the family that owns it and best of all it's dog friendly. The decor is so cool and effortless. My favourite brunch and dinner spot, as well as a perfect cocktail place in their beer garden while they serve up delicious BBQ out the back xxx

Had the most amazing Christmas dinner here with friends. Emma couldn’t have looked after us all better if she tried. She was amazing as was her team. Food was delicious, and everyone was very complimentary! We will be back !
