Can't fault this place. Have gone past on a few occasions but never called in until this Sunday (August 13th)
Had the ''Kickass Chicken' and a pint of Daleside Blonde.
Both were exquisite and would highly recommend.
Will not be driving past again without stopping.
Call in, you won't be disappointed 😊 ❤️
I have passed this pub for over 30 years on the way to Brimham Rocks , finally ventured in. It is an absolutely lovely pub, food fantastic, staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend, and definitely don't leave it over 30 years to go like I did , as your missing out
Went for a lovely meal. Had steak pie and chips with veg. Absolutely lovely. The staff were kind and the prices were very reasonable. Talk about a proper genuine country pub!
This place is about as authentic as you can get for a traditional country pub. The whole place oozes character and has a relaxing, homely atmosphere. The location is great, with several reservoir walks nearby.
There's ample parking outside, along with a beer garden and a few benches.
Inside, lighting is quite low and natural. Most walls are stone and characterful. There are a few open fires dotted around the rooms. There's a pool table in one room.
Service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered at the bar, where there was an option to tip on the payment console.
The food was good, kind of cheap and cheerful based on what we ordered (scampi, burger, chips).
I have visited before, and do know the homemade dishes are very good. Other reviewers have highlighted this.
I'll happily be returning.
A lovely 1771 built pub in original design from Yorkshire stone, fireplaces are gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere aswell 👌. Food is amazing too. N to top it off, you can have pub stopover in ya campervan .
We found this pub when we were looking for a place for lunch and indeed it was the right place. The food was really good and service quality was truly exceptional I can’t wait to come back again
A lovely surprise, off the beaten track. Warm welcome, top-notch food and a wide range of beers and refreshments in a cosy traditional vibe, with open fires.
Large car park, convenient for tackling the path down to the 7km circular walk round Swinstey reservoir. But play fair with the publican - don’t walk and just leave! The parking is for patrons.
Lovely dog and biker friendly pub.
Good parking, tasty fresh food.
Beautiful setting
Went for Sunday lunch. The pub was busy as it was a lovely day but once again the staff were happy and more than helpful . They all love dogs. Carvery was excellent with a good choice of meat and vegetables. Would recommend again and again
Comfort food for a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Will return!
Stopped in here during a walk round Fewston and Swinsty. Great fire, they allow dogs and did a nice pint of black sheep. They also serve your classic pub food, Sunday lunch and even have a snack menu to pick from.
We were staying not far for the sun Inn and decided to come on day 6 of our holiday. If we had came on the first night we would have come every night. Food was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Pity we live too far away to call this our local.
