Damn Yankee Harrogate

First time we have visited since begging of Lockdown what a really lovely evening we have had the staff were excellent, very polite. The food was lovely I always get the Smokey Joe burger and it certainly did not disappoint, I even got a sneak peak of the new menu that is coming out next week Wow Wow Wow it looks so lovely still some of the traditional favourites with a lovely twist it will be well worth another visit.

Having lived in Leeds many years ago before moving down south, I used to visit this place at a time when it was going a bit downhill. Suffice to say, under new management I was incredibly surprised at the turnaround! What feels more like a proper restaurant now, with a fantastic menu, both the food and service was absolutely top notch. For example, when asking about the type of pizza, due to making fresh they were flexible into customising it in off menu ways which was an unexpected delight. But along with friendly and accommodating staff (even for our rather loud 4 year old), the food itself was clearly fresh and well made. Better than average which is great for a restaurant which is priced at the lower to average end for a restaurant in a centre (10 quid for a burger with all the sides etc…) Either way - would highly recommend. Although one word of advice to them would be to have a card machine that asks if you want to tip up front 😂

The meal was ok the staff were great give them time to train the cook's and it will be a good place for the family and people to eat we went to the dam Yankee on Saturday 7-8-2021 we had ribs unfortunately they were to big so I eat half and took the rest home the staff were friendly and made us at home the chef came and asked if the food was ok we said it was lovely and hot it was quite busy they are new owners so ignore all the old comments and come and try it your self or with your friends/family Peter

The new decor and management have transformed this place,,, old rating was only three stars,,, now re-rated to five stars,,, well done!!,,, I hope your business prospers. Old veview....." Decor tired, chips great but burger so so, served on a cold plate. Service a little disinterested. There's better in Harrogate."
