Being a Kenyan, I would not say this restaurant offers food with the exact Kenyan taste, but it is quite close.
Love the ambience of the place, gives off a Kenyan vibe with the local art pieces and snacks on offer. However, their Acharis and Mbuyus (Baobab seeds), on sale, are extremely high priced.
Otherwise, food on menu is reasonably priced.
Would definitely recommend their Paneer Chapatti and Poussin Chips! Their portion sizes are great too. You can never leave with a dissatisfied stomach.
So! this place is supposed to be Kenyan. They serve chips and other things the Kenyan way. Loved the Chips and the Paneer chapatti. Definitely fresh and real food fora change. Tasty and not heavy on the pocket.
The poussin fries are to die for. The gatundu chips weren't quite there, need less ginger and more solid katchumbari instead of Maru bhajia chutney. Delish as a whole and is a weekly eat!!
Kenyan twist/Indian food. Poussin Plaice is extremely different to what other fish & chips places cater they have got a twist of making the food in Kenyan style which could rarely be found anywhere else London, Overall I would rate there food 10outof10. I would suggest people to try there bandika, egg chapatti , chilli garlic chips , poussin chips and ugali. The other good thing about them is that prepare vegetarian food different using different utensils.
I love stumbling across unique places like this that are off the beaten track and that you'll only hear about from those in the know….
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hungry Head by Poussin Plaice during my lunch break on Thursday. Having not been to this place since its rebranding, I was intrigued to see what it had to offer. Let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised by the delightful culinary experience that awaited me.
As I entered the restaurant, the first thing that caught my attention was the extensive and enticing menu. Hungry Head offers a fusion of Indo-Kenyan flavors, which immediately intrigued me. With so many delectable options to choose from, I decided to go for the Paneer Tikka Pizza and the Garlic Bread.
The Paneer Tikka Pizza was a revelation. Unlike the usual pizzas you find at most places, this one stood out with its unique combination of paneer and coriander. The flavors were simply amazing, delivering a delightful blend of spices that made my taste buds dance with joy. The chef behind this dish clearly put a lot of thought into creating something extraordinary. I wholeheartedly recommend trying this pizza—it's a true culinary gem.
Next up was the Garlic Bread, and it was a fantastic accompaniment to the pizza. The bread was perfectly baked, with just the right amount of crispiness. The generous amount of cheese and garlic topping added an irresistible richness to each bite. It was an absolute delight, and I highly recommend indulging in this savory treat.
After my incredible experience at Hungry Head, I am already planning to return with my family. It has been a while since I've come across a restaurant that offers such amazing food. The diverse range of dishes on their menu ensures that everyone will find something to satisfy their taste buds. I can't wait to share this hidden gem with my loved ones and explore more of the wonderful flavors that Hungry Head has to offer.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a unique and flavorsome dining experience in Queensbury, look no further than Hungry Head by Poussin Plaice. From the extraordinary Paneer Tikka Pizza to the mouth watering Garlic Bread, this restaurant has truly impressed me. Don't miss the opportunity to treat yourself to their remarkable culinary creations—you won't be disappointed.
This is a great place which puts a fun new twist on classic dishes, the use of ordinary chips but with the addition of Indian/Kenyan sauces, spices and vegetables makes them taste really good and it is something very different. The staff were very helpful explaining each chip dish and what's in them etc. The chips tasted as good as you would get in a normal fish and chips place. I also had the homemade vegetable burger and I thought that tasted really good. They've even tried you make you feel like you're in Kenya with the colours, pictures and vibe. I highly recommend.
Amazing restaurant with kenyan specialities like Mishkaki, kachumbari, ugali, sukuma wiki and a lot more! You can also buy halua, achari, mabuyu and some other non food items from kenya. Food was delicious as was the passion juice. The desert surprise was absolutely amazing! All in all, a great place and we will be back!
One of the best chips I have had with a Kenyan twist. Have been back to try the different types of chips with different sauces. So far so good.
Great Kenyan style food in UK.
They have started to do Pizza now and the cheese garlic bread is really tasty
Yummy food and environment felt i was back in kenya to top it off excellent customer service.
Fantastic food, amazing taste. One of the best dish i ever tasted "Eggs on the Hill"
Definitely worth to try. Poussin chips are very good. Good Kenyan food served in Harrow. It's self service and café style so don't expect too much. Service is good also if you are confused ask staff they will help you to choose food.
Brilliant place with Kenyan Indian dishes and East African dishes. This is Queensbury best kept secret. Friendly and great service. Home style cooking, take away service and also you can take away the lovely perk Peri peri sauces that give you that unique African and Indian food.
Lovely dishes such as poussin chips, mogo...
The egg chapati was a treat! Nice kebabs...
Worth a visit !
What can I say but this place is brilliant. The service is great and the food even better. Poussin Garlic chips is so delicious. One of the best places to eat whether it is to eat in or takeaway.
