Our first visit to San Marcos in Hastings, Michigan, in September 2023, was a pleasant experience. We decided to enjoy the outdoor seating, which was quite enjoyable. The service was good, and the staff were friendly.
We started with the chips and salsa, which were delicious. However, the queso was a bit runny, though it had a nice taste. The chorizo street tacos were the highlight of our meal, with a great blend of flavors, cilantro, and salsa. The corn tortillas were well-made.
My wife ordered the beef tacos and was satisfied with her choice. The beverages, including ice-cold beer and large margaritas, were refreshing. While our overall experience was positive, the queso consistency could be improved. We will be returning in the future.
The food is so good here! And the peach margarita is fantastic. Highly recommend the Burrito Cabo and the Fajita Nachos. The salsa is a little fiery but so delicious. And it's not overly saturated with cilantro, bonus points for that!
Best Mexican restaurant in the area by far! They have an amazing menu with crazy good food and it's actually affordable. My husband and I can go there and eat for under 30$ if he has beer we get out of there for 40 or 50 including tip. Not to mention the staff is wonderful and the manager who runs it is the nicest guy ever. He takes care of his customers and they could be charging alot more for the quality of their food and service but they don't. I will forever support san Marcos and recommend them to any who likes Mexican. Even if you don't like Mexican try this place, it changed my mind!
Went on a Thursday evening Ladies night out. The restaurant was packed! We ordered Margaritas and Sangria that was fantastic! After reading some of the reviews, I was concerned about going but I am so happy I went. Our waiter told us they were short staffed so we did have to wait a little longer but the food and drinks made it worth while. I'll definitely be back! *****
Enjoyed an amazing dinner. The food that was recommended was super delicious. Great glass of Sangria. Can't say enough about the staff, absolutely delightful. Looking forward to many more visits!
Excellent food! Might have been a bit understaffed, because we had to wait a little bit longer than usual at similar restaurants for our food, but it was well worth the wait! I had the carnitas mexicanas, which were simply incredible. They were cooked to perfection, so tender that they fell apart when I poked them with my fork. My wife also had the flautas which were pretty good too! Highly recommend.
Stopped in for a quick lunch last week Thursday. The server was new but extremely attentive and friendly. Food came out quick and was really tasty! I had the Cabo Burrito and my wife had the Shrimp Tacos. When you crisp the taco shells you know you're in the right place! We'd come back!
Very nice place. Came here in the evening with a friend of mine and ordered a coffee and the waiter was kind enough to brew me some fresh coffee which I really really appreciate. The food was absolutely delicious the meat was perfection. They really know how to season their food properly and make it delicious. Probably the best food I have ever had from a restaurant. Staff was extremely friendly and informative as we had asked some information about the waiters culture, as the children we had with us were in a Spanish class and had to eat out at an authentic Mexican restaurant as a part of their homework. He was very kind to them and we absolutely adored the service he gave us.
Great tasting food, prompt service and, best of all, the food was piping hot (not tepid, not lukewarm but piping hot). Even the chips (with the salsa) were warm. Will definitely be back.
Truly authentic Mexican food. Staff is nice and courteous. Food is always hot and delicious. Our number one go to place for dinner.
