If there's a better Chinese takeaway....let me know and I will try it. Okay I admit, I usually get the same order each time...the special chow mein....try it, its very tasty. I found the staff friendly and food good. What more can you ask for. The food is cooked fresh...I was invited into the kitchen, (see pictures).
Great Chinese takeaway. We ordered about 6 dishes, it was ready on time friday 6pm and everything tasted delicious. Only thing, make sure you have cash! 😖
Reasonably priced menu and delicious food, I had a very good experience. The lady was who served was friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommended.

U read some of the posting about Shanghai house heading. I couldn't belive some of the reviews I saw. They do the best Chinese food in Oxford their service is second to none their staff are great friendly and make me feel welcome on the phone or in the shop. Love their food and won't eat from any other Chinese takeaway. Well done Shanghai.
Best Chinese.. really wish you would open in London! Always such good quality, food is given piping hot and tastes fresh. Nailed the Chicken & Mushroom curry!
The Shanghai House has been at 127 London Road in Headington since 1970. It produces good, freshly cooked Chinese food at a reasonable price. Rather quirkily it will only accept cash, but as there are several nearby banks with cash machines, this isn't really a problem. It has a top hygiene rating of 5, which is important to me: some eating places in Headington have an abysmal 1 or 2. You need to beware of the fact that (1) it is closed on Mondays (although it is open on bank holiday Mondays and then closes on Tuesday instead), and (2) it is always closed at lunchtime except on Fridays and Saturdays. It is takeaway only and has no tables.

Great place to grab a Chinese food. No eat in just take away. Very pleasant staff. Fast and efficient. Would recommend to anyone.
You can't argue with the quality? Taste great and I fully recommend if you visiting Oxford and fancy a takeaway.
