First time here for food on Sunday. Wow, the prawn and crayfish cocktail was amazing. They do not skimp on the shrimp 😊 Myself and family had a roast. It was absolutely lovely, again, generous portions and lovely and fresh. Super friendly and helpful staff too. We will be back

We walked here from Whitstable along the beach and had a delicious Sunday roast. We booked over email for a 12:00 table, and there was a queue outside for 10mins before they opened, which felt like a good sign. The place was super busy as soon as they opened so definitely worth booking. Between us we had the chicken wings and brie for starter. Both came with a lovely fresh salad and were very tasty. We then had the turkey and pork roast, which came with some of the best roast potatoes I've eaten and a wide range of veg, including cheesy leeks. I went for the Moroccan Nut roast, over the beetroot and butternut squash Wellington, but both sounded lovely. At first sight, I thought I'd made a mistake! But the nut roast was lovely; really unusual. None of us could fit a pudding in, but they looked good too! All of the waiting staff were really friendly, despite being super busy, so all round a very good lunch. Glad we made that choice!

Drive along the front away from Herne Bay, up the hill - and there's The Hampton Inn below, with the sea behind. It sits on a traffic island, with plenty of free on-road parking about. Coming into the pub, I was struck by how busy it was. It is clearly very popular with OAPs but also families with small children and people with dogs. Judging by the events listed on the board, it seems to be a thriving community hub. The windows ensure that the place is very airy with plenty of sunlight and a sea view. The location is much quieter and more relaxed than Herne Bay proper. Just a few wind surfers out on the water outside. The decor feels perhaps more like a coffee shop than a traditional pub, but I suppose this chimes in with the setting. The food was very reasonably priced and quite decent (standard British pub grub). The prawn and crayfish sandwich was really good as was the vegetarian lasagna.

Loved our first visit to The Hampton Inn and will definitely be returning! The Hampton is a good 25 min walk from the centre of Herne Bay but it's well worth the effort. The aspect of the pub is stunning looking out over the bay towards Tankerton and Whitstable. Great selection of well cooked local foods complemented by good local ales. My wife and I had the Fish and Chips and our daughter the Veg Lasagne. There was certainly no room for dessert but we just had to try one, and the cheesecake didn't disappoint. Overall, great food, lovely serving staff and dog friendly too...what's not to like!

Thought we'd try here for Sunday lunch as passed it many times in the past and some recent reviews looked good. It's an interesting lay out with half the pub laid out with restaurant style tables (complete with red / white cheque tablecloths) and the other half feeling more regular pub, large windows mean you get a good sea view which was nice. Food wise we had soup and pate to start, both well presented and tasty. Could have done with some nice chunks of crusty bread rather than basic quality baggette and white bread toast. Good choice of roasts, pork, turkey, beef or nut roast at around £15. We had the beef; meat was tender and well cooked, the veg was equally well cooked and nicely seasonal with leeks, cabbage, swede and carrot. The only things to improve upon would be possibly the flatest Yorkshire pud we've had and the gravy which lacked any depth of flavour that often pulls a good roast to a great roast. Having said that, we cleaned our plates and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Couple of good cask ales on tap and we left pretty happy. There were quite a few tables that had bookings so if you're planning to visit, would suggest making a reservation. Would we go back, maybe we'd stop in if we were passing but next time we're in the area, might look to try somewhere new. Overall and friendly and welcoming place to visit 😊

Lived in Herne bay all my life and this is the first time I have visited Hampton Inn, and shall definitely be returning. Food was lovely. Big portions; nice selection of veg on the side; good menu choices and appropriate prices.

I met up with old work colleagues and the table was reserved for us. We ordered our food and attention was made to ensure one of our meals was not in contact or near any nuts. The owner was very helpful regarding this. I had the ploughman's lunch which was fantastic. All our meals were delicious 😋 I will be taking my husband there soon. Its a delightful place opposite the beach front. Definitely going there again.

Lovely pub in a great spot and on the plus side, walking distance from Seaview Holiday Park. The staff were lovely and friendly. The place is also dog friendly too. Unfortunately, we were unable to eat here, albeit the food smelt lovely. The menu looked good with reasonable prices. We did manage to enjoy a pleasant drink on the outdoor seating, enjoying the sun and views. We will visit and book to eat if we return to the area
