A La Turka - Herne Bay

We read very mixed reviews about the service at this restaurant but decided to ignore the bad reviews and I’m glad we did! We had a delicious, authentic Turkish meal with very attentive service. It was the best meal of our holiday in this area! But be warned, if you order mains they are quite pricey. We ordered one main and 4 starters between 3 of us (as we’d been told by friends that they give you free bread and salad) and it was still a bit too much! Absolutely lovely food, especially the boregi for starter and baklava for dessert. In opposition to many TA reviews the service was excellent for us (around 6.30pm on a Fri evening). There were lots of big groups arriving and it was very busy as we were leaving, so I’d suggest booking on the weekend.

Me and my wife visited this restaurant last Wednesday. I have to say first impressions were fantastic. Very welcoming, clean, mordern, spacious, organised and the atmosphere was great. The team all carried smiles too. It was our first visit to the chain so was excited to tuck in and explore the menu. Even though it is a little pricey to be honest we were not disappointed with the choices and quality of the food. Their portions are very generous so you can choose to be smart with your food choices to share and bring cost down. With the individual choices we chose there was plenty. We could have easily broke it down and felt fulfilled. Ivana our waitress was brilliant. She was attentive and knowledgeable. We did notice a minor issue with another table but the way she dealt with it was extremely professional. It is a great location on the seafront and amazing especially on a warm summers evening. There are tables and igloos outside. Highly recommend and will be visiting the other restaurants in the very near future. A big thank you to all the team for your hard work. Keep it up. Amazing food, my first experience here was outstanding. The second visit was just ok. For some reason they decided not to bring out the complimentary bread with dip which they did last time whilst we were waiting for food. I asked the waitress who said she would bring it out with the main meal, which doesn't make sense. Please serve your customers the bread with the garlic dip like you always have whilst clients waiting for food this really is a highlight. For me anyways.

First visit with our dog skittle. Waitress was really lovely brought water for Skittle as it was boiling hot day. The lunch menu was great value. The Falafel starter with salad and pitta bread was beautiful. Followed by Lamb Kofta and Chicken shish. Again so much food and beautifully cooked. The lunch was £20 for two dished £25 for three. Glad we only had two no room for third. Highly recommended.

Nice location and atmosphere. Food was good except for one item which was very disappointing in size and quality. I did let the server know but there wasn't any apology or move to rectify it. Such a shame. But other than that, all was good. (Lambs liver is recommended...but add some lemon to it :) )
