2 small fish, 1portion chips! The reason I gave food one star was because of the chips, freshly fried, golden in colour, very tasty.
As far as the fish was concerned, it was my worst ever takeaway. The batter was very hard and probably intended as a substitute for RAAC concrete. The fish was well overcooked and dry, not even the ever hungry dog would have it. The first time I ever had an inedible meal from this chippie. The purchase was made at 12.20 pm but tasted as though it was left over from previous evening and re deep-fried.
It taught me a lesson.
My favourite place for fish and chips on the Wirral. No longer as affordable as it used to be, but where is?
80% of the time when I go in, the fish is fresh from the fryer and always delicious, especially with a healthy (or less than healthy) drizzling of vinegar and pinch of salt.
Huge menu that to be honest, I've not tried a huge amount from but that which I have has always tasted great, particularly the fried rice.
Lovely for fish, chips and other dinner time meals pies etc.
Not tried the Chinese food yet !!
