John Lewis Restaurant

Just back from a visit to JL on behalf of my mother. A washing machine that has been trouble since we had it. With 3 fixes required JL eventually swapped it. Thanks to Ben who was brilliant and to JL. It may be cheaper on the internet sometimes but that's because you are not buying the service and customer care. Thank you to Ben, I wish you had seen the happiness from my parents in their 90's hearing this was sorted.

It’s a nice store and the scones in the cafe are to die for… However, there wasn’t anyone in the shoe section to help us find a size to try on, and the member of staff we asked said they couldn’t leave the bag section, which is fair enough, but when someone came over to offer help they shouted at my mother from a distance which was a little bit unexpected. But we got help in the end and it’s definitely a nice environment! ☺️

Good sized full range JL with plenty of free parking and easy access from M40. Proper dept stores are getting rare so stores like John Lewis need our support. This store has everything you need and it’s all good quality. Good range of electrical items as well as furniture, beauty, clothing, gifts and even sports which has gone from some JL’s. In-house restaurant/ cafe can provide a drink with a cake or something hot if you prefer a meal.

Large department store over two floors. Just about everything you need to kit out your home from carpets to home electronics and everything in between. They've also added clothes relatively recently with a men's range on the ground floor and a much larger range for ladies upstairs. A good range for toddlers and pre-teens is available to. If you need a break or re-charging, there is an onsite restaurant too. Lots of free parking available too. Unless you're after something particular, the only time to avoid is during the sales - it's middle class bedlam!
