The Queens Head

I've been to the pub several times to listen to live music. There is always a great atmosphere. This was my first time eating there. We had the bogof pizza deal. The pizzas were delicious, lovely and light with plenty of toppings. I would highly recommend, a bargain on a Monday. The staff are friendly and welcoming, thank you.

Dad & Son beer night arrived here on a Tuesday evening to find that though the beer selection was pretty good, the Tuesday night Quiz was just starting. It was the first time we'd been here, though the reviews appear to be good. Quizzes are great except when you want to settle down for a quiet drink and a chat. We had one beer each...Beavertown Neck Oil for Son and Guinness Zero for Dad... Surpringly, they actually had some cans in the fridge!!! Full marks for that....if I'm driving I often check out low alcohol choices. Seems like a decent pub. We'll come back sometime.

We visited with a friend who knows the area and had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. The pub was pretty quiet so there were no issues with service in any way. The landlady and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Good coffee and good beer, well kept. We all had freshly made pizza, one with an indian style topping that was incredibly tasty and another a basic margarita with our own toppings as a half and half. Thin and crispy base but in no way dry. Added perfectly cooked sweet potato fries and halumi fries. Will definitely visit again.
