Alberts Fish Bar

As a local person living only a 3 minute walk from Alberts I am probably too much of a regular customer, but when the food and the service this good why would I go elsewhere? I actually have to walk past another fish and chip shop to get there, if you find yourself in Holt, I highly recommend Alberts Fish bar, you will not be disappointed.

Friday night (quite late) a friend and I were on a ride when we decided to stop for chips at a chippy we know in Holt. There was no parking in front of it so we went further down the street and saw Albert's. Decided to give it a go and very glad we did. The burgers are extremely nice! Not cheap, but a true example of getting what you paid for. The chips were great too. There is a couple of tables inside, so we were able to sit and eat, though literally only a couple of tables due to the space limitations. Staff were friendly and laughing and joking with both themselves and customers. Our food was served on plates with knife and fork (a rarity for chippies). Both my friend and myself Decided we have a new favorite chippy for when we are out that way (those burgers were very very very nice!)

Ordered two cod and chips (plus a pineapple fritter) for takeaway tonight. I live 3 miles away so sat down to eat some 15 minutes or so after collection. The fish was still very hot, the batter crisp and the chips were cooked to perfection. The pineapple fritter was an absolute treat; shame I had to share it! The staff are friendly and welcoming to all customers and working very hard indeed on this busy Saturday evening with an outside temperature still above 26C. I hate to think what the temperature was behind the fryer. Nothing more needs saying; Fish & Chip perfection.

The owners have made huge changes with massive investment at Alberts Fish Bar. Brand new equipment throughout and a fantastic new food addition, a Shawarma. I had this meat last night and it was amazing. Provided with a great salad and chips and a choice of sauces. Mr partner had cod, which was cooked to order as always and perfect. All food is cooked to order, so if it is busy, expect to wait. It is worth it and you won’t regret this fish bar. Great service always.
