Totally recommend this place, fantastic setting, warm snug feel to the main pub, light & airy extension and a huge child friendly beer garden.
I visited here for a Sunday Roast 21.05.17 with my mum & her husband, and I have to say that both the food and service were spot on.
I'm not normally a lover of Mash potatoes but these were superb, rich, creamy and buttery.
I chose the beef after asking how it was cooked, and was offered medium or rare, I chose rare and how refreshing to see a chef that when he says rare, he means rare.
Fantastic selection of seasonal vegetables all cooked to perfection, with more being offered if required. In additional there were Roast Potatoes and Yorkshire Puddings, which is never gonna be a bad thing for someone like me.
I have to say it's the best roast beef dinner I have eaten apart from my own in years and years, and I cannot wait for my next trip back home to Cambridge so we can go again.
P.S. As the food was so good, we decided on a dessert too and again, totally faultless. It's been a long time since I've been to somewhere that has had over 5 desserts that really appealed to me. Ended up as a toss up between the sticky toffee pudding and the croissant and apricot bread & butter pudding..... the latter won and it was divine.
Always a great meal at this quaint, village run pub, with friendly service, piping hot food and lots of it. Would be happy eating here every Sunday.

The Plough & Fleece went through a bad patch after the landlady left. We stopped coming. We tried again after some time, a change of chef and landlord later. It has become great again no more 'poncy' food. Efficient, really great pub food, great beer and extra lovely staff. What more can you want? We feel happy to bring our friends here again. We'll done, don't change it guys ✨
We have just had a excellent Sunday dinner. Very generous portions, our main course served on lovely hot plates. Very friendly staff & a real pub atmosphere. We would thoroughly recommend.
Went there for Sunday lunch with the family. Beautiful pub, friendly staff and lots of really good food. Didn't have to wait long even though they were busy and the food came hot and tasty. Slight overkill with the potatoes - roast, mashed and boiled but I guess it's nice to have the option. Good selection of desserts, not that I had space for it
The venue is rustic and comfortable. The sunday lunch is very good value. Great for large groups and very accommodating.

Popped in, as was passing by. Only had a drink but looks a lovely place. The food coming out smelt & looked amazing. Will definitely return to give it a try!
Really great food fresh ingredients beautifully cooked. We had a party of 17 and the service was great. It is under new management and we wish him every success. We will certainly go back as the food and atmosphere are great. Thank you for helping to make the evening special.
The Plough and Fleece is under new management. John the manager
Jack the chef and Julie head bar and waitress. Gave me a warm welcome. I totally disagree with with some of the comments I have read. Some people have champagne taste with beer money. The food is excellent. Jack takes great pride in his cooking also Maria assistant chef makes the most incredible desserts. Friendly and clean pub. Thumbs up
