First visited Dec '19 :Visited about 10am on Christmas eve. It was quiet, ordered a traditional breakfast and an American breakfast. 10 minute wait (which is acceptable) but it seems mine was left out while my wife's was still being cooked so not as hot as I would like.. As always you can't knock a spoons brekkies for the price. First time visit and would visit again. Very clean, staff always seen on the move cleaning tables quickly.
*UPDATE Oct '23 : Calledbin while passing through for a quick lunch. Ordered 2 crispy chicken burgers. Arrived very quickly and also hot and they were very nice. Smaller plates than normal meals but as it was only a quick lunch snack it was still a good size. Quite busy but it's a spoons so execpected. Great food & great service 👍.
Very nice. very clean pub and nicely situated in the town centre
Big long room + setting out side at front + beer garden at the rear. Pub clean .crisp.bright .8 pulls 4 real ales on all good happy staff. Standard spoons menu.
I have come up for the weekend from Hampshire to visit my grandma and we came for lunch here today. I am beyond impressed, I had a small cod and chips with curry sauce and bread what a meal it was. My grandma had a wonderful jacket potatoe with salad and she enjoyed it so much. I can’t wait to visit again when I’m back up this way. Staff are attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is great. Thanks again guys
Well it’s a Wetherspoons, so you know what to expect if you have ever been to one before. We went for breakfast two days on the run whilst staying at a hotel in Hoylake. The traditional breakfast was nicely cooked and served on a hot plate which is good. Had refill hot drinks which were also good. There were lots of different seating options, we chose cosy areas. As always, there was some nice local history to look at on the walls and the one off carpet to admire (for those of you that don’t know this, the carpets are made especially for each pub). The staff were lovely guys one of which actually noticed that we were back for a second day.
You know what you get from Whetherspoons so shouldn't be expecting gourmet food. Food however is good and value for money.
This is the best Whetherspoons on west wirral and has a good vibrant atmosphere.
Just called in for a coffee but fantastic value! Two cups of coffee for £2 and as many refills as you'd like. The coffee was really nice too.
Quite a nice pub, friendly staff and good service.
Unfortunately they need a new chef, I know it's only 'spoons' so I was not expecting Al a carte (I've had some good from spoons BTW), but when I order a steak medium rare, I don't expect it to be as burnt as the steak Joan of Arc was tied to!
Pretty standard for a wetherspoons, the food was fine and served hot. The tables where clean as were the toilets. The staff we polite and quick as per normal. The WiFi was provided by the Cloud and was working well, which is good news as most food and drink ordering is done online from your table.
Well what a lovely pub. Very clean and tidy. Met up with some of my friends from school had a wonderful time. The toilet are spotless. The staff very helpful and lovely at the till when they serve you. All different bunch of people in there which is nice to see
