Service was friendly and quick. Food was very good and came out hot and within a reasonable time. We should have asked for more gravy but that’s the only thing lacking

The place was very welcoming. Beers are good. The food a little overpriced and only average. Service fairly good girl behind the bar was good but the youngsters a lot to learn.

Love the Hare & Hounds. Plenty of parking. Lovely outdoor setting and cosy inside, though quiet at the time we went (mid aft')..... Staff pleasant, helpful & professional. Had a lovely lunch with my husband, but had issue with our Vintage voucher offer when paying, which was due to expire, hence the visit. It was mentioned before ordering. it appeared it wasn't applicable to the lunchtime menu...I think more info'/training should be given from the Vintage group to all staff. Hardly their fault if not informed. If it says £10 off a £30 spend, you assume it applies to everything, as long as you spend that amount. Not so! We spent £40+ ...who wants to read through lengthy T&C's each time? It appears we have to. Not the first Vintage pub where there's been confusion. Hope the bosses that be, will make it easier for staff & public, as the offers are sent as a added incentive to visit.
Thank you to all the lovely staff who do a great job!

Met a friend there & had 4 well behaved dogs. We sat inside, in the dog area, which is to the right & back of the bar area. An extensive dog menu, along with treats, poo bags & water bowls that you can get yourself.
A warm welcome as you enter, order food at the bar, food is delicious, never had a bad meal there & been there on many occasions. Lovely views from the outside seating area & plenty of clean space for dining without a dog. A wonderful place.

We have not actually been a customer here but I thought they deserved a review for their kindness. We were travelling past and my son was sick in the car, it was late and the pub had closed but staff were still on site. They provided water, tissue, cloths and spray to help us clean my son and the car, nothing was too much to ask for. Thank you, we will return here as customers.

I haven't been here in a while and thought it's a great place to take my partner.
It's rare to find a place that sells gammon which is one of my favourite meals out.
The staff are very friendly and helpful
Welcoming on entry to the bar and very prompt
The food was great and looking out from the beer garden there is an amazing view.

Arrived early to sit outside with a drink & take in the stunning view before our meal, we sat out past our booked time as, I asked if we were ok to enjoy the view/atmosphere a little longer ...all through, staff members were so courteous & accommodating. We travelled a fair distance to visit & ...it was so very worthwhile! We managed to see the beautiful sun dropping & had such a lovely relaxing time! (I don't...do relax)! The steak was tasty & cooked to perfection but, the star of the show was the fried onion nest, delicious! (Something different/ new). Overall, the perfect evening, location, atmosphere, staff & food 10/10. Thank you.

A really nice pub in a beautiful location. The views over towards Castle Hill, Huddersfield are lovely. The food is great, I had the fish and chips and they were delicious. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of parking space and outdoor seating. Highly recommended!

Lovely place, very dog friendly with a jar at the front for treats, poo bags and a hydration station! Dogs can sit inside in the bar area which is big with comfy chairs and a nice atmosphere. The dog was very happy with his sausages from the dog menu which had plenty on it.

If you’re looking to pig out and enjoy a dining room away from home, Hare and Hounds is the place for Sunday roast and a desert to follow. Hare and Hounds is also pet friendly pub with a dedicated section at the entrance.
For mains we ordered turkey, 2 pork bellies and a trio. The roasted veg was caramelised well, broccoli was crunchy and the meat was succulent.
For desert we ordered a honey pot was an edible garden. The banoffee pie was layered like millionaire shortbread and a sticky toffee pudding was as rich as ever. The food and service was second to none, not to mention the staff were full of humour. It came to a total of £107.
The male toilets were hygienic, however the female toilets were not as up to standard.
