Both our family and our dog were made to feel really welcome. I was particularly struck by the manners and great service we received. Some of the high brow restaurants that charge the earth, could take a lesson from the young man who served us our food. Service was courteous and efficient yet unobtrusive. The bar staff too were excellent. They were very kind and accommodating to our dog and it felt like a genuinely dog-friendly environment. Food was good and the desserts excellent. Thanks!

We are staying nearby and called in for tea. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered a burger with chips, and ham, egg and chips. The food was very good value and freshly cooked. Outside there was a big beer garden and a play area for children. I would definitely call again.

The food is first class and tasty 😋 I went today for lunch and had the homemade pie 🥧 amazing and the bread and butter pudding exquisite. And the local ciders were superb. Phil and the team were top notch and made is feel welcome a must visit if you are in the area

Visited after a day out in London, arrived late due to torrential rain and train disruption but the welcome could not have been nicer. There was a party going on and a live band, the atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly, felt like a great big family. Food was typical pub grub, flavoursome and hearty portions - I had the steak and Stilton pie, absolutely beautiful. It felt like a real community hub, there was a Royal British Legion raffle, and tables with poppies and all the other RBL merchandise to buy, but no pressure, Just a lovely evening and I would definitely recommend it!

Such a wonderful pub! Their selection of cider was amazing - and if you ask nicely, they'll let you sample before you buy a half or pint. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and patrons. Also really good events due up. Definitely worth stopping in.

Had a delicious turkey roast with crispy potatoes and lovely Yorkshire pudding, vegetables were cooked just right and the choice of deserts was to die for. The drinks were at a very reasonable price, atmosphere friendly and courteous. I look forward to going again soon!

Came in here for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday, only one negative it did take them 30 mins to take our order once we'd sat and pressed the service bell a few time but the food was lush. Size of the fish was enormous, and was cooked perfectly. If waiting a while is the only negative ill take it, wonderful friendly staff, no real complaints.

Love it here especially in the summer time. Kids love to run around and play in the garden and the massive field. Staff are very welcoming and enjoy having a laugh with you. Food is very good. Place is always clean

Only went in for drink, but we stayed for dinner. I have been before so knew it was good. All 4 of us had the steak n Stilton pie, veg and new pots for 2 of us, the other 2 had the same but with chips and beans. Carly came and chatted to us, telling us about the Beer Festival she is planning in January. Keep an eye on Facebook for dates. We will definitely go again for dinner sometime soon, also thinking about going for a before Xmas meal. Highly recommended.
