Quick service. Jon has been serving food at the George for a while and his food is always top notch. It is a family run, dog friendly business right in the heart of fore Street. I come to the George every time I come down to Ilfracombe and never regret it when I do. The prices are also good. The pub is a lovely old fashioned pub run by great people

Lovely local pub, very friendly atmosphere. Very dog friendly. Although we did not eat here, the meals we saw being served all looked very good. A good selection of drinks are available. Staff were friendly. Reason for not allocating 5 stars on this review, is the comfort of the seats. They are either hard wood with no cushions or very upright settee style seating with hardly any padding at all. So not comfortable for lengthy stays.

Very dog friendly. We ordered lasagne and a jacket potato with cheese and beans and both were tasty and very hot. The beer was well kept and was very tasty and the wine was of good quality. They even bought out dogs a bowl of water.
