Marine Restaurant

We visited the boathouse twice during our visit to devon. The first was a sunday roast on our arrival day as it was reccomended by a family member - what a delight. The peach glazed gammon was amazing! We immediately booked to come again a few days later and had pollock and mussels off the specials menu. The curry sauce that the mussels came in was divine. We also ordered the miso corn ribs both times as they were so good! Lovely staff, lovely resturant.

Second time we've been here. First time was because they support a charity I help fundraising for in Something to Look Forward To, second time because the whole experience is rather marvellous! The food is excellent you can see that in the photos. It really helps if you like seafood obviously, but every product is the freshest quality ingredients, cooked beautifully and served really well in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are great, super friendly and helpful. If you're going to be in this area then make sure you book a table and take the time to enjoy an excellent experience.

We had such a wonderful Saturday lunch here. The weather was looking like rain and we'd booked on the deck without cover. They were kind enough to book us a back up table indoors as well for that instance. Fortunately this wasn't needed in the end as the sun came out! Really top customer service from that perspective. The food was delicious. I ate crab thermidor, which was perfectly prepared and cooked. The view is tremendous, the food is fantastic and the staff are lovely, i couldn't recommend this highly enough. An FYI, you can still get a view of the estuary from downstairs inside.

My family and I had lunch at The Boathouse Inn whilst on holiday in the area. We all agreed it was out favourite place to eat, as the food was amazing. The mussels were huge and very tasty, fish finger sandwich and fish & chips were very light and not greasy at all, as well as the cheese burger very nice. Service was great, helping to seat us with our 4 dogs. The atmosphere was lovely, we sat on the balcony overlooking the beach which was stunning. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy more fantastic food.

If you're looking for a beautiful spot to enjoy a meal, The Boathouse in Instow is definitely worth a visit. The building is beautiful and the view is simply stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for your meal. While the breakfast and lunch menus may be somewhat limited in terms of options, the quality and flavor of the food are both good. While prices may be on the higher side for pub grub, the view and great taste make it worth it. The staff are also friendly and welcoming, making for an enjoyable overall experience. So, if you're looking for a great place to enjoy a meal with a view, The Boathouse is definitely worth checking out.

Have always enjoyed everything about this place over the years, and coming back this time was no different We’d enjoyed a Memorial and Celebration for my Mum the day before, with lunch at The Boathouse, and had a lovely meal (20 people), with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service This visit was a sunny day, and we were meeting family for a dog walk after lunch, so Instow seemed the perfect choice. Sarah was in again, and greeted us warmly, asking how the Memorial had been We were seated quickly, ordered drinks promptly, as well as a shared Starter and a couple of sausages for our dog The food was incredible, as I’ve always found it to be. We shared a Dessert also A welcoming, warm, comfortable establishment, with great views, fresh, well-crafted menu items, good quality drinks, and friendly service 2 adults (and a dog) - Thursday lunchtime - no reservation - beginning March 2023
