I booked here for my other half’s 50th birthday and the guys at the Salthouse Harbour couldn’t have made it better for us. The room was amazing, the service was faultless. Cannot recommend this place enough. You guys really made a special treat even more special, I cannot thank you enough xxx
Travelled on business recently for a 2 night stay. Fantastic attention to detail in all aspects. Quirky, comfortable and stylish. Great staff, lovely food, good whisky choicesThe deep copper bubble bath looking out to on the harbour was divine and made it that bit extra luxurious! Thank you!
The Salthouse Eaterie is the restaurant at The Salthouse Harbour Hotel, which is ideally located at Neptune Quay on the Ipswich Marina in Suffolk. Paulo and I were looking for a night away at a luxury hotel that offers fine dining and the Salthouse Harbour Hotel delivered on both counts. We hadn’t been to Ipswich before and the waterfront, although still under development, was a pleasant and relaxing place to visit. The Salthouse Harbour Hotel is a beautiful Victorian building featuring arched windows and iron columns. It was originally a merchants warehouse and was refurbished to a high standard over 10 years ago. The Salthouse Eaterie overlooks the harbour.
Beautiful local food and impeccable service. Been wanting to eat here for a while but due to its higher prices we decided to go with a voucher we received. However I can see why the price on the more expensive end of Ipswich's eateries, everything on the plate went well, nothing was unflavoured or missing and it was a real treat to savour.
We had the early bird dinner. I think you have to book a table between 5.00pm and 6.00pm, I believe. Costs £29pp for a limited menu with a drink. Well worth the money, though.
The food was delicious, and the sevice was excellent.
Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Staff were professional, friendly and genuine. We needed to amend the booking time due to traffic, which they were happy to do and didn't seem an issue for the restaurant.
I had the cod with a salad which was really tasty and fresh/light.
There were a few large parties in the restaurant the same time as us, however the service was still good and we weren't waiting.
Definitely recommend this restaurant and the cod dish.
This is a very interesting restaurant space, full of quirky art set in a beautiful old building.
The food & service are exceptional & the set menu if you order before 6:00pm is an amazing deal.
Would highly recommend this to anyone who is needing to eat in Ipswich
Very impressed with the pork loin Sunday roast - a dish that is easy to mess up given the kitchen might create large batches of the different ingredients. But my Sunday roast looked, and tasted very fresh and - well - tasty! Great service as well. Thanks.
I get breakfast here and it's great. But i also got a dinner this time and it was awesome and the best part was the deconstructed rhubarb pie. This place does great food and it's consistent. And the staff is awesome.
My word, the food and atmosphere brings new meaning to the phrase "Dining experience"
My wife and I attended for her 30th Birthday, so i reserved online for 1pm on Monday.
The setting is modern, spacious and relaxing. The drinks on offer where exellent and we dined on one of the best steaks i've tasted.
The only frustrating drawback was service. I felt service was slow. We missed out on desserts as we waited approx 25/30 mintues for someone to come around and take our order and we had a timed appointment, so couldn't stay.
Would i go back? 100%. Would i ensure that i had a completly free afternoon to allow for service? 100%.
Went here for Afternoon tea and the food was amazing, the cocktails were even better. Was very busy but couldn't fault the service.
It's always lovely here. I've never stayed over but I've eaten in the restaurant a few times over the years and it's always perfect service and beautiful food. Took my husband for afternoon tea for his birthday today and as usual really kind professional service. Clean. Comfortable. Gorgeous food and drink. It's not an easy job we know, we've both worked in customer services for various companies over the years so we do appreciate all your hard work. Thank you
We booked the early bird meal (book a a table between 5-6pm) we got a cocktail/glass of wine along with a 3 course meal for £29 + 12.5% gratuity. The food was amazing, fresh, local and flavoursome. The service impeccable. If you are staying at the Salthouse Habour Hotel or live in the Ipswich area get along and support a local high quality establishment. The ‘early bird’ is excellent value for money, supported by great service.
