Friends recommended so we thought we would give it a go. What a lovely pub, welcome was warm and friendly, the menu has something for everyone on it. Would definitely recommend.
We loved it . I had mac amd cheese and a garlic slice, my hubby had sausages and mash. We both had profitaroles and 2 diet cokes. For under £12 lunch time menu. And we both utterly enjoyed it. Staff were so friendly
Visited the Royal George in Ipswich.
We hadn’t booked. We arrived on a Sunday evening about 5.30pm. We were greeted by staff and given the opportunity to choose where we sat in the pub.
We were advised about the option to order at the table using the app or through the staff.
We decided to order through the waitress.
We was not advised of any items not being available. We ordered a sharing platter. It was very generous and very tasty. The food was hot and the service was quick.
We ordered a biscoff cheesecake each. The cheesecake in my opinion was very bland it needed a bit of sauce or flavour. The strawberry was tasty.
If you hold a blue light card, the Greene king pubs offer a 20% discount.
I would visit again and recommend the Royal George to friends and family.
Good food at reasonable prices. Took our two youngest granddaughters (6 &9) who finished their food in record time. Would recommend booking.
Brilliant for casual dinner or lunch. Nice place with good food. There are some good options for grilled food. We have been served quickly, prices are competitive, and the car park is right in front of the entrance.
Annie went the extra mile to make our visit enjoyable even when she was running around on a busy Saturday night! Thanks so much and we will be back again soon! Had the chicken mix and match which was delicious, my partner had a stack burger and nuggets for the little one followed by her favourite chocolate ice cream!
Another greene king that didn't disappoint. Also still offering a blue light discount. Friendly & helpful staff. Very helpful with gluten free choices. Some items were out of stock but it was a Monday lunch time. Busy weekend?
Stopped by to catch up with friends. Really nice, clean pub. The bathrooms, despite being worn down, were very well kept. Food was good. There are options for many different types of diets. Plenty of seating and standing areas. TVs located throughout. They also have some food challenges, if you're into that sort of thing.
Enjoyable meal had here as part of a family get together. Good choice on the menu and look out for the offers available to make it even better value. Friendly staff and clean facilities.

Took a while to order but once ordered food and drinks came quickly and had to go find someone so we could pay and leave!!!!
Michael was brilliant very engaging with his guest and us. Went eith my partner and daughter, we had the pleasure to be served by Michael who went the extra mile regardless of our requests he was happy to help each and everytime. Our daughter loved that he got her a toy and went out his way just for her.
Being the manager of another restaurant my self I tend to look for flaws and pay extra attention to what all staff are doing and I can say each and every one of the staff kept busy as well as engaging with all the guests. I would be a proud manager if I had a team like that.
My steak was a little over done but over all a very nice meal all round.
Good steak nice sauce with lovely service team. In the modern wipe-em down quick way the table tops were sticky to touch. Cleanliness probably OK but comfort not so good. Get that right and I will gladly offer my fifth star.
