Overall a good experience. Their coffee is neither here nor there. Although it tastes pleasant, it can be a bit bitter and is remarkably high in caffeine (which is typical of Costa). That's a perk if you're looking for a punchy brew.
Their food is as you would expect, a quick and easy bite to eat that can be warmed up in some cases. Though not gormet, there is a nice range and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, so perfect when in a pinch or on a whim.
The staff are very nice and provide a great service as well as being easy to approach with any queries. They're patient and helpful when ordering too!
This Costa is very often busy, which hampers a chill café vibe, but there are plenty of seats and if you have some noise cancelling headphones or the ability to tune out, it's certainly a place you could relax, work or comfortably spend time with friends and family.
My favourite place to go love coming here for a visit with my best friend or my partner. Their food is delicious their drinks are lovely I love their Easter Halloween and Christmas range of food / drinks the staff are so friendly. You can also buy gift cards / cups and flasks
Friendly service from the staff, the place was a bit grubby today, sticky tables and floor... it's a Costa, the coffee is reliable.
Nice views of the streetscene and passers by if you sit by the window and no view of anything if you sit in the dingy rear part of the café.

Popped in here yesterday (Monday) with my mum and daughter at about 13:20. As usual, it was busy, but there were still places to sit. We all had a drink and something to eat, tasty and refreshing. The young lady who served was brilliant. She was totally on the ball and double-checked all of the orders being made by the other staff. Staff were frie dly and helpful.
The hot chocolate with the chicken and cheese toasty gives it 5 stars. I haven’t really tried anything else but on a cold winter days this is an ideal option.
Always a welcome with old favourites such as chai Latte or this new experience the Ruby hot chocolate: a pretty pink fruity sweet cup of cheer. This visit I managed to write a short piece whilst enjoying the atmosphere.
Ordered two babychino's for my toddlers. They were very hot! My older two children had them when they were small and they were always a drinkable temperature perfect for kids.
Other than that, the service was very quick
Absolutely amazing service. The Costa staff were so polite. We came in and my friend has a severe nut allergy in which the man at the counter, took out the allergen book and reassured my friend that the food and frappe we ordered had NO nuts in. The two Co workers, Oli and Kun I think their names were, I cannot thank them enough for their friendly and kind approach to our simple request. They then went out of their way very kindly to clean ALL the equipment and deep clean all the cookers to take extra precaution of my friends allergy. And to top it off they brought the food and drinks to our table and gave us extra reassurance that mine and my friends drinks and food were in no risk of contamination.
If that isn't top service with care and consideration to their customers, I don't know what is. Thank you for making our visit such a unique experience!
Absolutely can't believe some comments, if you think this Costa is bad, then EVERY Costa in Ipswich is terrible. This, in my strongest of opinions, is the best Costa in Ipswich. And the reason is because the service is fast an efficient and because some staff from the original Debenhams Costa moved to this store. 😁
