Cosy pub with a great selection of craft beers and real ales. Beer garden, insofar as town centre pubs go, is ideal for a sunny day.

Have been twice for the quiz. First time was wonderful no problems. Bar staff are wonderful and fairly consistent in terms of people behind the bar. Very friendly. Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that the quizmaster, otherwise excellent, took very long breaks in between questions.
Other than that, great staff, beer is reasonably priced (around £4-6 a pint (although there's also a 10% student discount)), quiz is fun although slow at times, and the atmosphere is great.

I love this pub, it's the oldest in Ipswich and my great uncle and aunt ran it in the early 20th Century so I can't say anything bad about it even if I could. Oh, and cats!

This pub has grown so much over the years & truely is my favourite. The staff are always incredibly friendly & the venue itself is beautiful. The outside garden is such a hidden gem, you definitely dont feel like you are in the middle of ipswich. I always feel safe & comfortable here, if there is anyone that causes trouble it is delt with calmly & quickly by the wonderful manager. Would advise anyone looking for a safe space & lively but calm place for a drink to go! Also has cats & dogs are welcome so cant go wrong!

In all the years I've lived in Ipswich I've never visited this place until now. Its a small pub in the heart of town with a great choice of proper ales and craft spirits. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonably cheap too. Nothing to dislike!

By far one of the nicest pubs in town. The manager is an absolute sweetheart, and general lovely and friendly vibes all round whenever I go. Also, beautiful beer garden!
