This restaurant has so much potential; however, there are no plant-based options. When we walked by the first time, I asked the lead chef if he had vegan options. He said sure I have vegetables etc... We came back that evening and we communicated to the waitress that we had spoken to the owner/main chef, and he said that there was potential for fully vegan options. That waitress seemed to be knowledgeable and said we do have an egg free pasta and we can sauté veggies in a nice marinara sauce. It was good. I came back and another waitress informed me that none of the pasta options were vegan. Basically, either the wait staff is not quite sure what vegan/100% plant-based means or the restaurant had variable options. We live in Ipswich, MA, so there are not too many options for folks who eat plant based. It’s frustrating that Ipswich does not have too many restaurants that can accommodate plant-based folks. But what we appreciate and respect more is when businesses are informed of public needs. In both visits we defined what vegan meant, yet were given different information. It is okay to say we do not have any “food” items that are animal free, your plant-based customers will understand and go elsewhere.

Top quality food! Best Italian around! A hidden Gem! Better be patient though his food takes time! You want fast food go elsewhere! You better not try to alter your order either that’s a no no. The screams and yelling heard from the kitchen is just him putting his all into your meal! If you can’t handle the Heat stay out of Zabs! This spot will knock your socks off! So will the Owner so be ready! Love the chance of getting my head chewed off for picking up my order 2 minutes to early but the food is worth the risk! Highly recommend! So glad they made it through covid!

My wife and I were in downtown Ipswich this past summer enjoying time with our 3 and 5 year old daughters. We were looking for desserts for all of us and wine for the adults. Kids are very well behaved and we qent into this restaurant. The hostess spoke with us and returned to tell us that the owner was refusing to seat us because we had children. So, this was a first. Our kids are restaurant ready and we'll behaved.

I admire this place! They serve high quality meals, they have a nice menu, The chef in that place is a real authority in the kitchen, I enjoy a lot eating all their dishes. The dishes are always of high class, the service towards the clients is friendly. I go often to this place and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.
