Called in today while on a day trip, ordered a battered haggis, was cooked fresh and was the best haggis i’ve had, very tasty and was coated in lovely well cooked batter, staff were very pleasant and friendly too, will be back for more when in the area.
Fish was freshly cooked, but not well drained (oil leaked through the card box and the paper bag onto clothing on the way home.) Chips were okay. The server was very polite and efficient - he used hand cleanser between tasks. I was concerned about the cook's hygiene - while standing by the food she scratched her head twice, wiped her hand round her face and nose, and brushed bits off her tee shirt. No hand cleanser between all that. I was wondering whether to cancel my order, but didn't because it was late, we were very hungry and not many chippies were open (Monday). Fortunately there were no ill effects.
Dined in and the portion was huge. Beautiful fish (very large) in lovely batter. Would definitely eat ghere again if visiting Kendal.
A great portion of chips with a good Cumberland sausage.

Had my 55th birthday. Traditional fish & chips it is exactly the same as I have cooked for many years truly "delicious" ❤️🔥❤️. Just famous thank you for a lovely time. PS. I would love for any professional chef to prove me wrong. If you do manage to pop in kindly do me a favour and say that you read the review from Stuart Cudlip who had shops in London Blackpool and Cumbria it'll make him laugh because he doesn't know me
Their fish and chips were delicious. Very big portions and very good service. 👍
Great fish and chips, pensioners portion was more then enough for me.
The scampi breading was too thick tho. Overall it was good :) pleasant service too!
