A wonderful experience in the centre of Kendal, the historical building is home to an art gallery and museum. Barbara Hepworth, Lucian Fraud are some of the highlights, a must visit.

Lovely little cafe tucked away on the side of Abbot hall. Went round for a coffee and cake and the customer service from pearl was amazing she was very lively and friendly.

Lovely to have this on doorstep. I think best to manage expectations - it’s not world class - but for what it is it’s lovely and has some beautiful artwork. Great that the permanent collection is open again. I also really enjoyed the two temporary exhibitions that just opened. Can’t comment on what the cafe used to be like, but it’s a relaxing space and had a nice pot of tea. Very good value given you can use your ticket for a year.

Lovely park with lots of greenery. Children's play area. Plenty of seats to take a rest by the river and also in the park. Access to the castle just across the river bridge and up the hill. Also nearby carpark peppercorn next to the art gallery and access to the parish church and town centre

We enjoy visiting here and it's become a destination trip for us as well as a stop on the way to the lakes. Nice galleries, exhibitions and cafe. We became members last year which also gives free entry to Blackwell and the Windermere Jetty Museum. Unfortunately Abbot Hall is closing for 2 years from next week which is very disappointing.

We were thrilled with the quality and scope of the current Refugee exhibition and have discovered several fine artists we didn't know before. The captions were so well thought out and informative throughout the Gallery and a good size too.
