Morrisons Kendal Cafe

The layout just like all other Morrisons. The clearance shelf "Last chance to buy" had a number of open cereal boxes but no discount prices on them. The manager/ supervisor said they were there in error in and just needed cellotaping up and put on normal shelf. Says this must have been dumped there by a customer. However on taking items back I noticed other damaged boxes. All I can think is that Manager / supervisor (?) Is unaware of Morrisons policy on damaged goods. We regularly go to a Leeds Morrisons and damaged goods on clearance aisle are usually discounted. Very confusing.

Morrisons are not as cheap as some other outlets, but the quality is good enough. However users of the car park risk being charged if they spend too long shopping and eating in the cafe, or visiting adjacent businesses... hence my 4 star rating. There is a good enough range of products, including own brands and a budget range, and if they could get the car parking sorted out I would not be so nervous about spending too long shopping in Morrisons and the adjacent stores.

Visited the Kendal branch on 14 April. Easy parking and good access. Some items appeared out of stock but still a good choice. Clean and tidy store and most staff friendly and helpful. One exception to this was the checkout man who was very rude and abrupt, something I have never come across before in any store. He chastised me in a very patronising way for not placing the bottles of wine on the belt in the way he wanted them, and made sarcastic remarks and comments both to me and to my wife. Totally unacceptable behaviour. I immediately made a complaint to customer services at the store and was assured that the member of staff concerned would be spoken to. I sincerely hope that happened.

Went to the cafe. Ordered 2 cheeseburgers and coffees. Then there were no cups for hot drinks. Tables were a mess and told 45 min wait for food. Then to be told they didn't actually have any burgers, so we asked for a refund. Caroline was very very helpful and could stop apologising. She refunded our meal and let us take 2 take away coffees with us.

Stopped off today for some food and most items on the menu were unavailable. Had the option for cappuccino on the self ordering system but when we got to the machine we were told only tea and black coffee was available. Upon sitting down we watched a couple come to the till to order who were told they couldn't have breakfast, any pies and several other items. They then walked away. While eating our food i observed the 2 young waitresses making fun of customers. While one was stood next to the till another was sat at a table that a couple had not long since left and shouted over to her colleague "excuse me I ordered an extra egg" to which the other waitress giggled. At around 2:30pm a couple came to order at the self ordering system which said that the cafe is now closed. However the morrisons website for this store says the cafe is open til 4pm. Very poor customer service from the staff and a very disappointing experience.

One star for the Morrisons cafè in Kendal. My family and I are on holiday in the area and decided to have lunch in the cafe before we shopped. We didn't want anything much so ordered baked potatoes; we were told there was a 30 minute wait for food. Looking around there can't have been more than 3 tables occupied. 30 mins for a baked potato?? It was 12:30 so surely baked potatoes should have been pre-prepared. We ended up with a sandwich which was ok, but not what we wanted. You shouldn't have to wait 30 mins for food on a Sunday lunchtime - bad planning, bad customer service and not nearly good enough Morrisons.

Only one drinks machine working. No hot chocolate but given powder and told to press hot chocolate. Unfortunately the drink was barely warm. No real coffee. Just decaffeinated. Male toilet urinal broken. Only one hand dryer in ladies working but it was ineffective. Not up to the usual Morrisons standard!
