If there is one thing I could eat every day, it is the Parisian sandwich, which is comprised of the best baguette outside of Paris smeared with salted butter, prosciutto, Gruyere and arugula. Sounds simple but the ingredients are so good it transports one to a Sunday afternoon in the Jarden Luxembourg. They have a lovely curated collection of cheeses. Their pimento cheese is addictive. Eat outside cafe-style or sit in the sweet little loft upstairs.

Everyone RAVES about their amazingly delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Their soups are all homemade and yummy. Wonderful cheeses and specials. And, their French 🇫🇷 macaroon mini iced cream sandwiches are a super yummy summer treat. 109 Cheese Market is a real treasure in Kent. Temporarily located off the Main Street (worth a trip back into “the Barns) to find them.

I sometimes have to remind myself to try 109's daily special sandwiches because my standing order, and all time favorite, is the classic Parisian; prosciutto, arugula, butter and parmesan on a freshly baked baguette Perfection! On a Cold day their grilled cheese sandwich is hands down the best grilled cheese ever and the ideal comfort food. The staff is amazing and super knowledgeable. I never leave without mason jar of homemade soup and a stash of decadent gourmet cheese - the triple creme Brillat is amazing! (insider tip: grab a baguette from the freezer to bake at home).
