We decided to pop in for a coffee as we were in the area, and decided to also grab a sausage bun too.
The service was great and the sandwiches were epic.
A whole Cumberland swirl, piping hot and delicious.
They had toasted the bun too and it was terrific.
The coffee was top notch too, plenty strong enough to get us moving again.
We've been here plenty of times over the years and it's not left much of an impression, so I'm guessing it's had a change of management at some point recently.
A big thank you to all there yesterday.
What a great coffee shop! We visited both yesterday and today, having finished both walks in Grange, which kind of speaks for itself! 😄 Delicious food - fantastic choices for cake but also breakfast and lunch - wonderful coffee and extremely friendly staff. Highly recommended and, to coin a phrase, 'we will be back'!
Busy and quiet at the same time, this rural cafe is popular for walkers, cyclists and drivers alike. The cakes are excellent and the drinks selection is better than I expected!
Very nice, a cafe that is out of the way, unless you know where it is, you may well miss it.
The flapjack was beautiful, nice, and crispy. The can of diet 7up, along with the 2 slices of flapjack, came to a straight £8 so not too expensive.
This is an excellent cafe that we've visited in all weathers. Staff are welcoming and enthusiastic. Popular with walkers, cyclists and passing trade. Limited parking in this small village. Cakes are really good.
It's great little cafe, with a variety of hot and cold food and some great coffee! It's a little snug in there, but plenty of space outside. Friendly staff with good value food and drinks.
friendly staff, great food, beautiful location. couldn't be better.
Lovely café at the start of the trail to castle crag. Stopped to have a snack before beginning the climb.
Flapjack was probably the best one we've ever tried - it had crunch!
Prices are expensive but would be, given that this is the only café in the area.
Perfect spot for a cuppa, ice cream, breakfast, lunch, or afternoon bite, even a beer. Only drawback..if you call it that.. is the lack of parking.. so best to walk, bike of bus. Don't spoil this beautiful village with trying to park your car as you will struggle.
Didn't stop for food but for liquid refreshment (beer) after a day on the hill. (Can't give rating for food)
Plenty of walkers and tourists passing through but not overcrowded or annoying. Nice vibe, quiet village in the sun. Food and ice cream looks gooood!
I can say, with hand on heart, they had the best beer in the area. Cans/fridge. No cask/keg but no problem. A local-ish beer too.
Staff were pleasant and welcoming.
I liked it a lot.
