Visited today & received warm welcome, despite change in owners. Had Red Thai Prawn Curry served with Raita, Mango Chutney & Poppadoms. Relatives had Fish Chowder; Burger, Chips & Salad; Sausage, Chips & Beans. All enjoyed meals although did find prawns to be a little tough (suspected were added too early); portion of Fish Chowder whilst delicious, was little on small size, although all certainly didn't lack in taste & was well presented 😊 Great pub set in pretty picturesque village of Kingsand, with outdoor & indoor seating. Due to its popularity, booking is recommended if planning to eat there.

Didn't eat here so can't rate the food, but the beer was fine. It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon so not many customers to give the place atmosphere, but it was pleasant enough - clean and bright but still kind of cosy. Would definitely go again.

Cosy little pub in the historic village of kingsand. Friendly and usually lovely in the holiday season, it's a great place to while away a couple of hours. Had a decent whitebait, but the menu has many specials to choose from as well as pub classics.

Lovely village pub with friendly locals. Stayed longer than expected due to getting chatting with the landlord. Didn't eat due to kitchen hours but will be back for an amazing crab sandwich!

Amazing fish soup. Has to be locally caught as they could not afford to give you a huge amount of fish for 11 pounds otherwise. I had it 2 days in a row. Devine. Ditto the fish pie too. Wonderful home cooking in a down to earth inn. 10 out of 10. Also fewer grockles here!

We met with friends on Sunday 11th June and had a couple of drinks in an authentic Cornish pub. We seemed to be the only visitors and were made to feel ver welcome from the locals and even the Landlord! Service was great (Landlord's daughter) and we will definitely visit again.

Hey fellow adventurers! 🌍 So, I ventured a bit off the beaten path and landed at "The Rising Sun" in Cawsand. Let me tell ya, it's one of those hidden gems that remind you why small pubs are the heart of the UK. First up, the beer. Classic choices, each pour better than the last. You can tell they take their brews seriously here. But what really made the experience? The people. The owner is an absolute legend – made me feel like I was popping over to an old mate's place rather than stepping into a pub for the first time. It's that kind of warmth that sticks with you. And speaking of friendly vibes, the place was buzzing with locals. You know you've struck gold when you walk into a room full of chatter, laughter, and those authentic local vibes. It's the kind of place where everyone might not know your name (yet!), but they'll treat you like they do. No sweeping views here, but trust me, you won't miss them. The real charm of "The Rising Sun" is its heart and soul, and the feeling of community that wraps around you the moment you walk in. If you find yourself in Cawsand and you're after genuine company, top-notch beer, and a taste of local life, make sure to swing by "The Rising Sun". Might bump into ya next time I'm there, sharing a pint and a story or two! Cheers! 🍻

Had dinner and drinks here on a Thursday night on recommendation of our Air Bnb host. Cosy, modern and friendly pub with home cooked delicious and hearty meals. Between us we had lamb curry, fish soup and beef casserole with home made beer battered bread. The hosts were delightful and welcoming and were happy to recommend other local sights to visit. Highly recommend 👌

A very friendly pub in Cawsand, located conveniently at the end of the walk from Mt Edgecombe. The landlord, Michael, is a great host.
