Went for lunch with my Aunt. Service was friendly and quick. Food was delicious, my Aunt thought risotto was the best she had ever eaten, my wagyu beef burger was divine. Eton mess sundae was yummy. Lovely food great service and not too expensive either. Highly recommended

I have awarded five stars, having been a customer for some years and I thought it high time to post a review, following an unfortunate experience at a rival restaurant, old nelson, stratford road, who served my friend, who is a vegetarian, a dish containing BEEF, when a veggie dish was ordered and even said so on the receipt and not only that, but both the management and brewers fayre, couldn't care less and refused to comment, only to replace the dish, already started, because diner was unaware, with the original, now contaminated by meat, veg. had I come to hunters hall, like I usually do, this would never had happened , but rest assured, it was a one off and I shall be returning to hunters hall from now on.

We ate at the pub restaurant and had a nice evening. The food was good, but the portions were quite small. The service was great and we were well looked after. The place was very quiet and rather cold, they had a stove which was not in use. Could do with fixing it to warm the place up.

Celebrated a birthday here with 9 of us in the party. Made very welcome & the staff could not have been more helpful. Good Sunday lunch menu with the food brought out in good time & was enjoyable. Not fancy, but good pub food at a very reasonable price. We brought a birthday cake along, and the staff were very happy to supply us with plates and a knife. Thanks so much for a wonderful time.

A non researched stop after visiting nearby Newark Park, that turned out to be a lovely experience and hope to return. The car park and outside needs a bit of attention but more than made up for by the service, characterful surroundings, food and vibe here. Great guinness too! Very dog friendly (who loved her dinner!) and a great spot for Sunday lunch.

Called in for lunch this week. Food good and reasonably priced. Used a Blue Light/Defence Discount card for 20% off food bill. Recommended

Very friendly welcome from Chloe who later served us at the bar with another very pleasant dark haired lady. Chatty, friendly dog friendly locals. We had a lovely evening meal starting with a delicious sharing platter washed down with a couple of reasonably priced bottles of Malbec. Very comfortable bed, loads of hot water for a nice soak in the bath. Very clean room. The morning staff at breakfast were are so friendly and helpful, made our rotties day with a couple of sneaked out of the kitchen sausages as we were on purpose the last to have breakfast. All in all a really nice cosy night away for a surprise birthday treat, will definitely return.

Great value for money. Good location for touring the area. Rooms a little tired but not an issue, comfortable bed and pillows.

The room was excellent. I was in room 9 which was more like a mini suite than a room, with a separate twin bedroom and a sitting/TV/work area in the middle. It couldn't have been easier to access, being as it was on the ground floor and accessible from the car park. The bathroom was clean and well equipped with soap etc. There was a smell of bleach but I really didn't notice it after a few minutes. I ate in the bar on both evenings. My steak was good and the lasagne I had the second night was even better. Nice staff too. There was a choice of ales, Guinness, Madri, Peroni and Moretti. Internet access needs attention. The Cloud wifi which you can sign up for was largely useless. I couldn't even upload a few photos without changing over to my phone hotspot and using that. This isn't a solution either, as 4G was very weak in that area too.

Nice time. The food is clearly out-of-a-packet, but it was a pleasant meal in austere times for all hostelries.
