FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE FROM START TO FINISH!!
Was greeted with a warm welcome from the owner which was very nice, and was served 2-4-1 on the cocktails which doesn’t happen in Hessle! The food was well portioned and cooked to a very high standard (Seriously good). Menu is well varied and will suit all. The cocktails were made with fresh ingredients and were as tasteful as the food. We was not rushed in any way, and the waiters went above and beyond with service. The bill was beyond reasonable for the quality of food/drinks!
All in all, extremely happy and will be going back to try the tomahawk steak very soon!
Best restaurant we have been to in Hessle.
The staff were so lovely, I mean over and above what they needed to be. 11 out of 10 for you guys! The burger was outstanding, the cocktails were really nice, but unfortunately the steak was pale on the outside, wobbly fat and gristle and just below what we expected.. the place looked fancy but needs a bit of tlc the tap was broken in toilet and spiders on the windows in ladies and toilets didn't flush properly.. shame about that because it looks like a really high end place to visit.
We won a voucher for Birdcage and thought we'd try it out, and it didn't disappoint.
When we went inside, we were greeted by Simon, the owner. He gave us the pick of the tables and I ordered the chicken burger and the wife ordered the duo of pies, both with thick cut chips. When the food came out, it looked wonderful, and tasted as good as it looked. The pies were also made in house by the chef and there was plenty of meat in them. (the ones she had were beef and ale and chicken and spinach)
We will be coming back again, and been told they do a mean Sunday roast, so will definitely be trying that.

Stunning delicious food in a relaxed & trendy ambience with gorgeous decor. Very attentive & friendly service. Chefs vaping in the kitchen was the only negative.
My visit to Birdcage for a Full English Breakfast was nothing short of outstanding. The new owner, Simon, has injected fresh energy and a genuine commitment to excellence that shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. If you're a fan of hearty breakfasts served with a side of warm hospitality, this is the place to be I can't wait to return.

Friendly atmosphere Simon the new owner introduced his self along with the chef taking time to come over & speak with us also .
The food was delicious we got several different dishes between us, each one was presented well & everyone commented on how delicious the food tasted !
Keep up the hard work guys we are already planning a return visit .
amazing service! the front of house staff greeted us at the door, gave us the best seat in the house (the birdcage!) and we hadn’t even booked! not only did they give us updates on our drinks but they gave us complimentary appetisers! the staff were so friendly and we had a lovely time
Lovely food, chef very friendly & happy to adapt / accommodate gf diet for one person.

Quiet BH Monday but we will be back one evening soon, to experience the full ambience.

What can I say about this place, the food is exquisite the service is very good and Tom the chef is outstanding in his field. Myself and my wife are really pleased this place has re-opened with a fantastic new menu and great staff.
