Can't rate the rooms as we didn't stay over, but the pub was a classic, charming British pub, warm and welcoming with lovely, reasonably priced home cooked food. Good beer with friendly staff and locals. Well worth a visit!

Had a wonderful time at The Royal Oak Inn. Stayed with 2 friends whilst exploring Durham and the local area and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating, rooms were very clean and beds comfy. The breakfast was delicious and great portions. Would recommend!

Fantastic 3 night stay, myself, huuby and 2 Border Collies. Awesome room, Fantastic Breakfast, evening meals to die for with great menu. Sonia and Ian, superb hosts. All staff very friendly and efficient and even the regulars will carry your suitcases. What a brilliant Gem we found. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND.
