Lovely meal with really friendly chatty staff. I was there with my son and friends I hadn’t seen for a while so we ended up chatting and taking our time with the food and staying over 2 hours. It was a busy Sunday teatime but we were not rushed in the slightest.
Great food albeit a little overpriced. No waiting, straight in. Greeted by a mute apparently as he just grunted and made us follow him. But the rest of the girls serving are great and I'd recommend visiting.
A busy Saturday in the summer holidays could easily see standards slide but the very opposite appears to be the case at Colton Mill.
We'd booked a table about an hour before so there was no wait. Drinks arrived really quickly and no sooner than we'd finished our excellent salad bar bowls our main arrived.
The ultimate mixed grill (shared between two) was exquisite, probably the best Mixed Grill I've eaten since my wife and I celebrated our engagement in 1995!
There wasn't anything on the plate that wasn't really special, sauces were fabulous, beef dripping gravy to die for, and fabulous allergen information for gluten free too.
Harvester should be very proud of Colton Mill. Well managed, excellent kitchen thanks to Boris, stunning service from Esme.

First time visiting a harvester and it was brilliant! Unbelievable value for money especially the 2/3 course Mid week set menu deals! Also very good having the unlimited salad bar so you can choose what to accompany your meal with! Very Friendly staff and we will be visiting again when we are working nearby!
Would like to thank Grace for excellent service, my son had a special request for his food and she dealt with it in a brilliant way. Shout out to Olly for delicious food. We love visiting you and will be back again very soon. 5 stars
Well it was a Sunday evening and not very busy, so the atmosphere was really what we as a family made it - it was lovely!
As for the service and food, I think we were all pleasantly surprised, it must be over 20 years since my husband and I were last in a Harvester that we could give 4 stars to. We have been going to Harvesters more frequently in the last few years as they are a favourite of our wonderful Granddaughter - she loves the salads and being able to go and help herself.
In previous Harvesters - dating back to the early 2000's - maybe even as far back as the early 1990's, I would have only scored them between 2.5 and 3 for the standard of the food, so last night's meals really were a nice surprise. I hope that this Harvester can keep up the good work, as it would be lovely to have a reliably good Harvester this close to our home at last. That the staff were friendly too was of course also part of the pleasant experience
I've had my first dinner and breakfast in England here and I'm definitely happy that I chose Harvester. Atmosphere, service and the food are all great and people are kind. Highly recommend for everyone who's hungry or just want to have a drink.
Not been in here for a number of years and could not remember what it was like. Three in party ordered two steaks and one chicken skewer all food was cooked to perfection and we could not have been better looked after by the staff. Will definitely be back again if only to make sure it is always this good. Would also have recommended the steaks but couldn’t find them listed
Stopped off here on way home from slam dunk festival as was near the venue. Food was lovely. Staff were attentive. Would definitely go here again
I had a cocktail, the pop pop, it took 3 minutes
For starters I had taco, it took 6 minutes to be served
For main meal I had a sirloin steak, it took about 15 minutes for it to be served
Desert was a sundae with strawberry topping, served 3 minutes after main meal
Staff were very helpful friendly and the service was fast. There was a table of 14 of us including 3 toddlers and the way the waitress handled everything was incredible. The only down side was there was no bread left for the salad bar at all and was told there was none to be even brought out.
