Authentic Restaurant

Great hospitality by the young man serving us. Very polite and patient with us. The menu is not in English (something I think you need to look at) but he explained what the dishes are and helped us make right choices. Great traditional Romanian dishes. Started with a platter of Romanian cheeses and charcuterie with lots of bread. Then lovely tripe soup - not for the faint-hearted! Lots of garlic and vinegar, nourishing and actually quite filling. Also breaded and fried Romanian caskaval cheese (similar to Greek kaseri). The fried and grilled meat dishes are superb (chicken and pork). Try the Romanian donuts with cream and blackcurrant preserve for pudding. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Romanian wines too. And thanks for the Romanian brandy - this is not on the menu but we were treated to a shot just as if we were visiting friends. I would definitely recommend a visit!
