This is my favourite Indian in Leicester. Its small, with a great atmosphere and staff, amazing food. What more could you want? Its also bring your own!
Certainly one of the best if not THE best in Leicester, serving authentic dishes that are comparable to our home cooked dishes!
We started with a lovely sweet Mango lassi, Pickle tray and Poppadoms. Everything fresh and tasty and served promptly.
We ate a mixed meat starter which contained sheek kebab, chicken, mutton and some potatoes in a rich and tasty gravy. The channa chat I tried was also nice and reminded me of a twist on a traditional dish.
For mains we chose a selection of Karahis with plain and garlic naan.
All I can say is that it was very tasty, the meat is some of the most tender I have experienced, it literally melts in your mouth and requires minimal chewing.
The naan's are to die for; freshly cooked in a tandoor with the right amount of home made garlic butter, fluffy, light yet robust enough to carry all those meat juices into your mouth although they are a joy to eat on their own.
We ordered 3 karahis altogether to witness the different flavour profiles in each dish and not a single one of them tasted the same which is a familiar trait of indian restaurants cutting corners to produce dishes quickly.
I honestly don't know of any other restaurant in Leicester, that serves their customers quality ingredients that are prepared extremely well. To put it into context my mouth is watering as I write this review thinking of what I ate last night and because the dishes were sizeable I was able to take some home with me to enjoy a second round. Truly a delight and it is certainly my new favourite indian.
Went here with an open mind. I have been past a few times now and needless to say, we didn't regret eating here. I had a paneer dish and it was delicious. Service was great and it was very reasonably priced. Its not a huge place but it does feel cosy. There is no alcohol sold but it is byo and zero corkage. Also be aware, it is cash only.
Nice work guys. Will definitely be back.
Genuinely impressed. Don't normally leave reviews, but this place is worth a mention. Friendly welcome and the food was delicious. I went for the Asian style and the difference in flavor is quite something compared to what I've had in the past.
Great place to eat. Love the way the curry is served in big open dish. Quality and service is truly amazing.
After watching the foxes, good to chill with a quality curry..

Lovely and very tastey food albeit had more oil than your average curry. Tried to cater to awkward dietary needs as best they could. Beware its cash only.
Absolutely beautiful food. Cannot rate this enough. Incredible value for money and delicious. They have a bring your own alcohol policy but they don't charge corkage.
I love this place! I've been visiting Sarah and Kalik since they opened in 1994 when I was only a 6yr old kid. This husband and wife team offer such a warm and friendly place for a casual meal, the food is always delicious, fresh and kalik is happy to accomadate any palate. Don't miss the garlic naan or tadka dhal. Such reasonable prices and its bring your own booze, what's not to love!
One of the best. We travel 13 miles from Hinckley for this curry experience. Clean, fresh and home cooked food. No alcohol and genuine family owner. Love it
Excellent food, great service and very reasonable prices.
