As a saffar, you crave a taste of home where ever you are and Jimmy's didn't disappoint. From the floor manager, Maria, who gave us a proper saffar greeting to making us a special dish off the menu! I went to treat my mom and was treated in return. For was on point. Will definitely see you again!
Loved the whole experience . The food was absolutely amazing . The size of the portions were huge . Value for money for sure. Maria, our waitress was the best . Service was great !!! Will definitely be going back and recommend to all our friends . Thank you for a stunning evening Jimmys Prawns
For those that aren't a fan of prawns the grilled cod was amazing! Full of flavour on a bed of veg! Perfect place to come to with the family with a range of different foods on the menu to suit everyone! Love coming here!
Got the Jimmy Killer special prawns platter for 3. Comes in different spices levels, mild, medium, spicy and extra spicy. We got the medium flavour which was perfect. If you’re someone who likes spice but also doesn’t want to be struggling and wants to enjoy the flavours, medium is your best bet. Service was great and quick, food was hot and seasoned excellently. You are given gloves to eat the food without making a mess and a bin to throw the shells away (pro tip, enjoy the sauces on the shells before throwing them away!) the platter for 3 came with 54-56 prawns and we went for double fries for our sides. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will definitely be returning again! The platter was enough for 3 lads to be content and comfortable, but also leaving room for dessert. If you’re looking to fill up on prawns, you could go for a larger platter. 10/10.
Travelled from London to try this place out. Been hearing about it for ages. It was definitely worth the drive up.
Four of us, waiter recommended we go for the prawn fiesta platter comes with a variety of flavoured prawns. Man they were so juicy and flavoursome! The only one I wasn’t to keen was the Mozambique coconut flavoured prawn’s although very saucy, thought it lacked flavour. Everything else was great!
We ordered a couple of starters to. I don’t usually eat liver and any other organs, but my god, that spicy liver starter has converted me, my wife will be happy to know that.
Jug of strawberry lemonade mojito, very standard nothing special.
Highly recommend this place, staff were great nice atmosphere in the restaurant.
The staff are attentive, very friendly and quick turn around in service.
Heads up: No alcoholic beverages served here.
Had a few things from the menu as it was a group dinner celebration. I personally would leave some time in between visits just so when I do return I’m just as excited about the food… reason I say this - the spices/seasonings were the same across everything ordered. We had the prawn platter to share as a starter - plain as not everyone eats spice.. after a few prawns we agreed it missed the spice .. so second round we ordered mild spice … (above that was extra spice) as a heat lover I managed but I could see where everyone else expected a little climb from plain … and could not finish their food because it was harsh. There were two orders of the seafood boil that had to be packed up to go for this reason … that and the chips being the base in the seafood boil which made them soggy and also drenched in the spice would be my only critique.
If you’re a seafood lover the food will give satisfaction ££
The prawns were perfectly flavoured and paired so well with garlic butter, lemon butter + peri peri sauces & sides were great. The restaurant was extremelyyy busy but the service was still quick and friendly. We with my friends just to eat that. Had a great time. Definitely recommend 10/10.
Amazing!!!! I’ve been to the Manchester one so being in Leicester I had to try this one too! I have to say, it didn’t let us down. We had the mountain of prawns with chips, crabs & rice, seafood paella, queen prawns & rice…and the passionfruit lemonade. Every dish was just awesome! Can’t wait to be back again!
Been to this place so many times and never been disappointed. My son wanted to go for his birthday and we had another amazing dinner. My son enjoyed it more as he shelled his own Prawns for an adult meal and said bye to the kids meal lol.
Went here for my birthday and I I was not disappointed. The meals were hot, fresh and delicious. I never had to wait long for my meals at all. I was a little disappointed that being it was a birthday treat, they never offered a free dessert. That's the norm for other restaurants in the UK. Also when I visit other Jimmy's Killer Prawns overseas, they give a free dessert and sing you a happy birthday song. Something to make you feel extra special.
Other than that, the food was great, the atmosphere was nice and even though it was full in capacity it wasn't noisy. I didn't felt rushed to have my meals. Buckets were provided to put your waste and there is always someone to take it away from your table. Gloves and other plastics were provided so you won't ruin your outfit. And there were antibacterial wipes provided also.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here.
We didn't have a booking and they still managed to squeeze 8 of us in. Been here a while back and the food still tastes great. The dynamite prawn burger tastes great!
First time dining here.
Busy Friday night, but I got a table pretty quick. Menu is easy to understand, although I expected more variety. Apart from prawns/fish, there wasn't much else that stood out.
Ended up ordering a chicken mushroom creamy pasta, which actually was amazing! 🤤
The chicken burger and chips was alright too although a bit plain.
Also had 2 mocktails, however, these were weak in taste and small in size; for £6.50 each, they really should be a decent size.
Overall okay, decent. I would eat here again however can't see that being anytime soon
