A good venue for live entertainment (music and comedy during the festival) along with real ale and excellent made from scratch pizza. Better under this management but they used to have an extensive range of real cider, this is down to just one most nights now. The stage could do with a serious refurb though (very dodgy pallet creation)

Been on my list of pubs to visit for a while now, and I finally got the opportunity a couple of weeks ago. It looks, from the outside, to be one of those pubs that, well, if you get out alive you're doing OK. LOL. How wrong one can be. Quirky, fantastic selection of real ales, knowledgeable bar staff. Quite busy on a Saturday after non, as I think the rugby was ont' telly. Will be back if I can get out of the Blue Boar 😝😝

These guys have just catered for us - a group of eleven vegans. Absolutely amazing meal - been a vegan 22yrs and this is the best meal I've experienced for eating out. A full on vegan cheese board with a nice selection of cheeses, fruit and crackers for starters, a vegan pizza menu and then dessert (with filling portions). Will definitely keep this place in mind for the future, staff were friendly and our dogs were welcomed which is an added bonus as I take my side kick with me everywhere. Place was clean, we were served pretty quickly too so definitely worth a try for anyone wanting a vegan meal in a chilled out atmosphere.
