Went for lunch with some friends. Never been there before but was made to feel so welcome I could have been one of the locals. Food was beautiful. Excellent service from all the staff. The whole afternoon was fantastic. Really would recommend this place to everyone.
Three people for Sunday lunch. We felt immediately welcome by attentive bar staff who were friendly and helpful. Bar staff alerted waiting staff of our presence and they came to invite us through. We were warned of a likely slight delay in service as it was so busy. Orders taken quickly. We were offered more drinks without needing to alert staff. Delay was perfectly reasonable and worth it as the food was fantastic. Lamb was plentiful and so tender. All vegetables were nicely cooked even the cabbage still had a nice firmness. Apple crumble was amazing - not over sweet and the apples really popped still. Absolutely fantastic service throughout - grown ups who know what they are doing and genuinely care. We will be back soon and I suspect often! Easy parking. Beautiful back drop that looks like it has some very nice walking available. Thank you.
Sunday roast lunch - fantastic! This pub has really improved since our last visit a few years ago. Great atmosphere and great food (and very, very nice staff). When the weather's nice, the outside view is georgous across the fields as well.
Excellent place! Called in here last night after being let down by another pub, arrived ten minutes before the cut off point for food orders, they catered for 11 of us, lovely fresh cooked food,staff were great, polite and professional, would definitely go here again after after this experience, nice village pub with a good beer garden 👍🏻
Me and my partner stumbled across the old black horse inn following a trip to Rutland Water. Absolutely gorgeous roast dinners were enjoyed! I had the beef and it was delicious. My partner had the chicken. Could have spent the entire afternoon enjoying the pub's lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend

An absolute darling little pub with great beer garden, lots to explore for the little ones.
Decor is very nice, not overly stuffed with bric-a-brac and every wall and corner has something to look at.
Food, the chilli chips and cheese and red onion chutney sandwich, are portioned well. The chilli and the onion chutney made in house, fresh.
Awesome pub, great Sunday roast! Dog friendly indoor and out, plenty of seating in both areas. Deserts are amazing!
Really tasty steak pie and fish pie. Tasted home made and delish.
