Terry's Takeaway

Just went there today after looking for food places in Leicester. This came up, looked at the location, didn't seem too far from where I was in terms of time it takes to get there, but was I wrong regarding physical distance, from Wigston you literally have to drive towards the M1, passing it on and so on. This kebab shop seemed to be in some really isolated village, much smaller than a town, in the middle of nowhere 😕 Anyways, they say the lamb used for the donner comes from New Zealand, but didn't seem to taste any different at all, coming from me who's done so many reviews on kebab shops up & down the country, living in Harringay, North London, in a Turkish neighbourhood with lots of Turkish restaurants nearby. The lamb donner wasn't excessively greasy with fat dripping, so it was good quality meat, no doubt. But its no Best Turkish Donner in Dalston. The chicken was good though, but can't say better than other places out there as its not really a sophisticated thing to make. It's just marinated in paste. Had this one too many times in East London, but I could say this places serves the chicken lumpy which is what I prefer, though not everyone's cup of tea. I'd give this place a 4 out of 5, because it was good but definately the "best in the region" worthy type. Prices were reasonable, definately not overpriced. At the time of writing, small kebab was £5, large was £6, served in pitta bread, a bit more if in naan bread.

Was going to review this place after trying the chicken tandoori kebab in fresh naan and ordering a pizza but having tried the large doner meat and chips (at least five times now) with salt and vinegar, lettuce, diced cabbage, onion and garlic mayo haven’t managed to try anything else yet! This people is tasty takeaway from friendly people. Sitting down to another Terrys now and if the rest of the menu is as good as this I’m game to try it all! Will be there again soon and would recommend you are too.... enjoy! 😁

Just had a mid week treat from Terry's. As usual it was lovely. The kebabs are beautiful we had a mixed kebab and a chicken tikka kebab they were very tasty. The milkshakes are absolutely gorgeous!! I highly recommend the kinder Bueno one ....Thank you!! Everything we have tried so far has been lovely. Burgers are really tasty especially the Texan burger. Next to try is the pizza!! Also Great, friendly service. Highly recommend☺

Hands down best doner kebab in Leicester (can tell its 100% lamb meat and not the other rubbish other places use) - would definitely recommend it with the pita and salad. Thought the quality of the potatoes for the chips were very good and perfect portion sizes. Curries very tasty and must give special mention to the owner and the chef for agreeing to cook them to our taste (this is only possible as they are 100% fresh). Will defo be making me this my Friday night local! - keep up the good work👍🏽
