Went to Whittington in Staffordshire, just outside lichfield, walked along the canal there ,left our car at the old dog ,when we came back ,with the weather improved we sat outside and ordered food ,the place was a little quiet when we set off ,when we came back it had become alot busier, lots of families, we chose the camombert starters for two then ,main meals of salmon and prawn salad ,and sea bass ,we had to wait a little for each of the courses ,but it was worth it ,food was excellent ,and the service was to , well worth a visit

Popped in while we were moored up in the village. Great find, full of character. Good selection of ales and lagers, very friendly staff and more importantly dog friendly. Going back next week to try the food .
Follow up review, went again a couple of weeks ago and we were not disappointed with the food, amazing! All fresh and delicious!

Visited the Dog Inn for the first time after a walk with a group in the surrounding area. Well situated for a walk across Whittington Heath Golf Club and Whittington Barracks including the firing range. Walked about 6 mikes back to the pub where we had a table booked for 13.15. The pub wasn't too busy at that time of day on a Monday. We had a couple of beers and a meal. The pub was very nice inside. The lady behind the bar was very pleasant and friendly. Good choice of beer. All the meals were excellent. There was also a separate restaurant. Would visit again.

The steak pie was absolutely fantastic and the staff were even better. Two lovely and very chatty ladies at the bar and even the chef asked us how the food was. Very homely.!!!
