Lovely little restaurant with fantastic service from James.
The food was amazing, will be back soon :-)
I had read all the good reviews about this place and was looking forward to eating there. The steaks and sides were all delicious, service very good and the restaurant was a nice place to be. Happy to recommend this place, it was great.
I went here with my friend and we had the sharing platter which was three steaks plus two sides for £42 which we thought was an absolute bargain. the cocktails where amazing but this is what would bring the price of the bill up, however knowing that we still ordered for each because they were so tasty. Venue is super cute and sweet and has 4 table booths per floor so is perfect for an intimate dinner. The food was so tasty my steak was cooked perfect. I would definitely recommend this place to others for a delicious steak in the city.
Cowshed is a great little restaurant split across a few floors. The service was faultless from start to finish - they were helpful, friendly and welcoming, and managed to get steaks cooked the right way for fussy eaters! Parents said it was the best steak they had ever had. We ordered some nibbles (halloumi and bruschetta) - both were incredible. The halloumi came with an incredible soy honey dip and was really special. Our mains (steak) and various sides (chips, garlic mushrooms) were all spot on. I love the simplicity of the menu and I think it works perfectly. Still thinking about this meal and can't wait to come back.
First visit to this recommended restaurant and I wasn’t disappointed. Small rooms split over a number of floors offer a more intimate and personal approach. The menu is small but the food is fantastic. Rump steak was cooked to perfection and the blue cheese sauce to die for. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit
My boyfriend and I visited Cowshed for our anniversary meal. The experience was amazing from start to finish. The meal was perfect, we both went for the fillet steak which was offered to us on a specials menu and it was cooked to perfection. The service was great, our waitress was so helpful and friendly.
Would highly recommend Cowshed, one of the best meals we’ve eaten in a long time!
Next to The Raz (Blue Angel) this place was incredible. Firstly every member of staff we encountered were polite, welcoming, friendly, hospitable- they made the visit that much better.
The food, was some of the best steak we have ever had. We opted for the greedy cow, see pics, cooked to perfection rib eye, rumb and flat iron. Just melted in your mouth. The cabbage side was a huge hit as well.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Come in tonight for a meal for my boyfriends birthday and I can’t believe how gorgeous it was!
The steak was so juicy and probably the best I have ever had, the garlic and herb cream sauce was too die for!!
I honestly can not fault it in the slightest, very very impressed and will 100% recommend!!!
The best steak I have ever had. Well worth a visit we went on a Saturday afternoon I would
Recommend you book as very busy. The specials are out of this world.
Only downside the menu only has steak on it
Top quality food, great simple menu done very well, only negative was the room we were in was quite snug and we were unfortunately sat right next to a table of 4 quite loud drunk "lads"
Visited Friday evening with the wife food was perfect great service really goo menu to choose from it is a little pricy but worth the money will be back to enjoy again
Visited the docks and then came for food to this lovely place. Very good service from the staff and nice food. Be back soon hopefully
This lovely restaurant is a little gem. There are several rooms and the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere. The menu although not extensive it is very appealing. There are also specials to choose from. We had a lovely steak, with the fries ( very tasty ) and the sweet potato mash ( tasty and full of flavour), We then had a desert....the panda cotta and the bread and butter pudding which was to die for!!! The staff are lovely and helpful, we were served by the lovely James and service is quick. We will definitely be going back there.
If you’ve checked out their website you’ll know this is a small restaurant located in an old terraced house, so a nice cosy vibe.
The bar area is quite small and the drink selection is adequate but a little limited (no tomato juice for Bloody Marys).
Tables in the back room are quite close to each other so difficult not to overhear other people.
The menu is remarkably simple with a small selection of starter dishes, the duck croquettes we shared were delicious. The selection of steaks is ideal for steak lovers and naturally we choose the rib-eyes because we appreciate the extra flavour a bit more fat brings to the cut.
The steaks were perfectly cooked and we choose the mushrooms as the perfect accompaniment.
In our view there should be a choice of thick cut chips as well as fries because the fries had too many small crispy bits in them.
No time for dessert on this occasion but we’ll be going back for sure.
Highly recommended and fantastic value for money.
We were recommended this restaurant as an alternative to Miller and Carter....
This restaurant and it’s Steak are amazing
Set in a Georgian house and very rustic inside
We were shown specials by our waiter and although the special we went for the 3 steaks(sharing plate) with pepper sauce and blue cheese sauce, fries and caramelised butternut squash and onions
The steak was so well cooked we like medium rare, the steaks just melted in the mouth ( best we’d ever had)
We also had Nutella cheesecake for desert
We will 100% be returning
Staff were also 1st class too
We visited here for the second time for my partners birthday and oh my god!!! We cannot put into words how amazing our whole meal was from start to finish! The steaks are just amazing, cooked to perfection. We had starters, mains and desserts and I cannot pick a favourite as they where all out of this world! Will deffo be back again and again! P.s.....scored major girlfriend points for this birthday meal Haha! Best steak restaurant ever!
Went for my 60th Birthday on Sunday. We have had a really bad year so far. We could not have been more welcomed !!!! The staff were amazing. The steaks ( fillet) They were the best we have ever had and we will not have another steak until we come back to Liverpool in September . Thank you to all the amazing staff and especially the chef. Have a good Holiday season. See you soon. Kath & Steve
Visited on 29 February. I'm not a huge steak fan but my bf is the ultimate carnivore . However, I'm now a convert, at least as far as this restaurant is concerned. The meal was just delicious . Steak cooked perfectly and the sides were gorgeous , especially the Savoy cabbage & chorizo. Staff were also very friendly and efficient . Can't wait to return !
We waited ages to get a table here and were really looking forward to it.However, the starter selection was very limited and my husband had the croquettes special which was tasty but at £6 for four small balls it was expensive. My husband had the fillet steak special at £30 which he enjoyed and I had the ribeye well done with sides of fries and cabbage .The blue cheese sauce and cabbage sides were delicious and my steak was tasty but had a bit of fat which I couldn’t chew. I had the Nutella cheese cake which was lovely but again dessert choice was limited. We had a lovely Portuguese red wine and at £24 a bottle it was reasonable. For two courses each,a bottle of wine and a coffee the bill was £96.To sum up, I would say the steaks are the stars of the show with the starters and mains a bit of an after thought which is a shame.
.... on Friday 28th for dinner. WHAT a night. There were several proper ‘foodies’ in the group. It was a first visit for everyone. The food presented was superb, the service was nicely snappy. The value was excellent. The ‘feel’ of the place was spot on.The staff were committed and cheery and the whole experience was just terrific. Cowshed won friends on Friday and repeat business is guaranteed. Well done everyone. KEVIN COYNE
