An interesting menu, lots of great small tasting dishes done well and with care. Good service and a wide bar range complete the night. A little noisy but great to sit at the bar or outside and watch Liverpool pass by.

We had dinner tonight at Salt House Bacaro & things were really good. From the ambience, to the service & the food, everything was excellent. My favorite tapas were the spicy salami pizza, the risotto, & the salted caramel dark chocolate pot for dessert.

We visited the latest opening from the Salt House group for lunch during the sunny Easter break. Salt House Bacaro serves up Italian inspired small plates and is situated a couple of doors away from San Carlo on Castle Street. The area is like a mini Italian town with Olive and Piccolinos also in close proximity. The restaurant fills the Italian small plates void left since the closure of Pesto in Liverpool One. The décor has a warehouse/factory feel which seems to be bog standard these days and is similar to Artisan in Manchester and Byron Liverpool in terms of tone and atmosphere. We are fans of Salt House Tapas from the same group which serves up the Spanish equivalent if you never guessed from the name. Being lunch we decided to order a few dishes from the set lunch menu and some from the a la carte. The lunch deal is 3 small plates from a set menu similar to Salt House Tapas but minus the bread. The main menu has a varied mix of cichetti, charcuterie, pizzettes, fish, meat and veg

Perfect restaurant to grab some Italian small plates! * * * EXPERIENCE * * * A rainy evening at Liverpool, wandering around to find a dinner place and walked into Bacaro. Service was good and attentive, my server did a good job explaining the highlights of the broad menu and yes I was by myself and had 4 dishes, but since the portion was not very big I'm glad I actually got the chance to try out all those wonderful food. * * * FOOD * * * Roasted Tomatoes, Mozzarella and Fresh Basil Pizza: A It tasted just like the name of this dish, the roasted tomatoes added extra grilling taste to the pizza, the dough was perfectly made, lots of mozzarella and bail used in this rather small personal pizza. Roasted Cod: A It's my first time trying creamed mash mixing with egg yolk, the slimy texture was very interesting. Cod was perfectly prepared. But overall it was really the egg yolk that added the delightfulness to the dish. Braised Ox Cheek: A It's kind of gamey which I actually enjoy a lot. It was perfectly cooked, very tender and temperature was very even across the whole piece. The sauce was really interesting, I tried to figure out what it was but still couldn't, there was some truffle and bone marrow flavor to it, and with the creamy mushroom.... perfect. Risotto: A- Perfectly made from texture standpoint, the whole dish was slightly salty but the asparagus added hint of freshness. Lots of flavor on the palate, the snow peas added another layer of texture to the sticky risotto. Overall I enjoyed every dish that evening. Glad that I found such a wonderful place in Liverpool.

Great concept! Small Italian plates. Professionally made interesting cocktails too! Cool and hip location in a nice area. Great place for a fun date. You order several plates for the table. They come out separately, when they are ready. So you have to be a little flexible. Everything we had was good. And I heard the people round me mentioning they loved what they ordered.

Found this gem online while visiting Liverpool. Amazing small plates Italian that has something for everyone. From the personal pizzettes to the buttermilk Panko fried chicken with Mac and cheese, it didn't fail to impress. Don't miss the hummus with jam, and the beef with tempura prawns. Affagato for an ending was perfect!

This place is so charming and has the absolute yummiest food. We were able to get 2 seats at the bar at around 615pm on a Friday night. Hard to decide on our favorites, since everything was so good! Really, really, honestly great food here! Open up a location in San Francisco!

This is my first time eating at this Italian restaurant. It was so delicious that I ate here all the time I was in Liverpool. You guys have to try Bacaro’s pizza, especially the one I ordered (sorry I forgot the name) but it was super delicious! The fried seafood and scallops were very fresh, tasty and sweet. For the pasta portion, we must try the crab pasta which is full of flavor and the lamb pasta which goes well with wine. Their cocktails are very good and balanced. This is a restaurant that can be visited alone or with friends. This restaurant is amazing!

Definitely a must to try here. Staff were absolutely lovely, food was ridiculously nice and came out in good time. Sea bass was absolute perfection. My partner is gluten free and the gluten free menu literally gives you the same options (bar a couple of obvious differences) - not many places that offer such an array of gluten free option. Food was lovely too. The only reason I couldn't give this a 5/5 was due to where we were sat. Most of the 2 person were nicely placed however we were awkwardly sat in a corner table stuck between two parties, so getting into and out of our seats even just to go to the table was a bit of a pain. Would definitely recommend to anyone though!

One of the finest Italian restaurants there is. Exquisite menu backed up by outstanding service. The quality of the presentation and the flavours is remarkable.

In short the by-far best restaurant we visited during our stay in Liverpool. High expectations but great delivery. Nice, welcoming staff with helpful menu recommendations. We especially recommend the hake, the lamb tagliatelle and the goats cheese pearls crostini.

Basically this Italian restaurant has tapas style so they recommended us to pick 2-3 dishes per person. They had only 4 kinds of pasta so if you are craving for one big plate pasta, I don't recommend you to come here. All dishes were so tasty and quick served. Fritto misto, which is assorted with caramari, prawn tempura, seabass, broccoli, and courgette, is a must-try! The cozy ambiance and attentive service complete my experience.

Good service. Nice atmosphere. 3 plates was enough. However I also tried the chicken wings 👌 and the chorizo 🙌 Price was very good for the calibre of food. ###update - went back again for the lunch menu. £16.50 for 3 x plates. Pizza - amazing! Wings - amazing! Calamari - amazing!

This place doesn’t need my review because it’s already on Liverpool’s top restaurants list. Highly Recommended by my colleague when I visit Liverpool - glad to have trusted him! This place is famous for small plates so you can try a bit of everything. The server came to circle some of the must try items upon my requirements was very friendly. We had two Pizzettes: Roast chicken, jalapeños Grana Padano and the Wild mushroom, ricotta, black truffle. The mushroom one is a must try! For the seafood we got the Pan fried sea bass, white bean and pancetta cassoulet, gremolata - absolutely delicious sauce 💯 Burrata, black olive chimichurri, crostini was lovely too, the crostini perfectly crisp can have some nice cheese on top. (Am a burrata fan.) Lastly the “Stornaway black budding, sautéed chicken livers, caramelised onions & Marsala wine” was MY FAVOURITE. This is the first of the ‘organs’ that I would appreciate. Maybe the cooking wine will make the taste even richer 💙❤️🤍

Absolutely fantastic joint. Best in Liverpool. Very friendly staff, very friendly host. Every dish was amazing. Portions are small but reasonably priced accordingly so it's a fun experience to try little bit of everything.

Good place to visit, a lot of options to eat inc. small fancy pizzas. I ordered carbonara pizza and it was delicious and tasty. Fast service and food preparation time. A bit loud in the evenings so be prepared that’s not a quiet place.
