Cookhouse Pub & Carvery

Recently had a staff night out and I was blown away at the atmosphere and friendly staff. The manager Vic, comes straight up to you with a smile on her face and is happy to help you. It was my first time there…but it won’t be my last. The food was unbelievable. I have told friends and family that we need to go down!

This was our second time here. This first time is when it was first opened and it was chaotic, so didn't comment as it wouldn't have been fair. This time, well it was excellent, staff where very polite and pleasant. Food, we had the Carvery. We where both very impressed with the quality and tastiness of all the Carvery. Meat melted in your mouth, Veg, just as we like it. Very clean place.Tables clean and not sticky, toilets very clean as well. So for that I gave it 5☆ Deffo go there again soon.

First time trying this place and it has made a good first impression. Ordered the carvery which is £9.95 weekdays but £7 on Mondays which is a great deal. The carvery had beef,gammon and turkey and all were cooked well and seasoned well. Then all the vegetables where cooked perfect and seasoned perfect and with chicken or beef gravy to choose from. It really went down a treat and will be back to try other menu items. Minor gripes, one tiny tiny pig in blanket with the carvery it was about the size of half your little finger it was so cute. And the single stuffing ball was gone in one bite. But I suppose they want you to upgrade to the more meat and yorkies and pigs in blanket for a couple of quid more. Fair enough profits are thin these days.But it really was a lovely meal. All the staff seemed happy in general it was sound. Quite large pub with loads of space and a beer garden. Will becoming back to try the all you can eat breakfast buffet. .
